  1. i have a pair of dogs out of bigland boy,, litter mates to dells bitch both are very different, the dog is incredibly laid back, you could move him like a slab of beef he's content being near you lying at your feet or nearby, has been ferreting and done a bit lamping and though was slow to start i'm planning on keeping him fit, and fingers crossed he'll show me what he's really made of come next season, in the last month he's finally slotted together and is showing nice shape on shoulders etc was looking a bit lanky and shapeless for a bit so bring on winter! the bitch has a whole diffe
  2. i'm surprised channel four actually done a program that was pretty even and fair to both sides,, if this was on bbc i feel it would be a different matter.. firstly what a fantastic shot that pest control fella has! fair play and i'm pleased that the program showed the kill of both foxes, shows the urban public how humane it tis nice to see the part where the farmer was stating he had less problems when the hounds were allowed to work his land you never know it may help the city folk think different though i have to say i grew up in tottenham in london and saw the dirty unwe
  3. urban fox attacks, channel 4 on now !! looks like a good program and i can't help but think they may be a chance in helping change the way city folk think, never know it may help scrap the act enjoy and let me know what you think of the program all the best lurcher lass xxx
  4. how do you lose 25 kits?!? i would have stepped in to rear some myself, last year i helped my jill by doing feeds every two hours round the clock with a poorly kit who at 4 weeks suddenly became weak, i syringed him water and meds til he was stronger and then slowly re introduced to meat again, he not only lived but grew well and was rehomed to a chicken farm and worked end of last season, new owners are very happy with him. i don't understand how you lose this many kits, surely its a virus or something, keep your hutches clean, make sure the jill is copping, keep her weight on and all hydrat
  5. how old are the kits? as their eating some solids clearly their being weaned so the jills milk is starting to dry up, in this heat have you checked the kits are drinking water, kits can't use drinking bottles, use the chicken feeders and check their lapping water alright..if their not lapping syringe feed them water, other then that make sure their getting plenty of protein, i give mine beaten egg daily, helps keep protein levels up and gives them moisture meat wise i would also avoid giving them ham, its fine as a treat to get them used to different tastes but not as a main food group, raw

  16. i knew a pure ridgeback that was a great worker for what his owner wanted it to do, i have seen a stunning half cross though never seen it work, very beautiful muscle tone nice shape too, he was black with white chest and had the ridge too, looked like a slightly heavier greyhound with increase muscle tone, very nice dog would love to see one work atb lurcher lass xx
  17. i've always liked greyhounds, when i helped out a small racing trainer in ireland, he concerntrated on 6 racing dogs, three pups a year and always retired and rehomed his own, very decent man, mind you he kept one or two too many retired ones!! there was one ex racer who stopped due to running the outside rail so therefore losing time who was amazing on hare, very good base for breeding and i think there should be more pures on the feild, i've always said one day but currently haven't the space!! any more photos of working greyhounds, be nice to see all the best lurcher lass x x x
