Fished at Huttoft quite a few times in winter for cod, etc, and for smooth hounds in the summer, best time of day is the 1st 2 hours of the flood tide in the evening as the fish come closer in to feed, look at the beach when the tide is out and you will see gulleys in the sand, this is where you want to be casting to. (appx 30->50yds) For flatfish, eels, and the occasional bass the best bait is lugworm with a tippet of mackeral, for smoothhounds you will need strong gear, these are basically small sharks and go off like the proverbial rocket if you hook one, best bait for these is peele

Hi guys, don't know where to begin, i have been shooting most of my life one way or another, including air rifle, archery ( recurve & compound), target rifle ( .22 & full bore ), clay pigeon, and have now worked my way up to pigeon shooting. I have encouraged my grand kids and their parents into the world of shooting, and they have really taken to it in a big way. Hopefully i will be able to contribute as much as i possibly can on this forum, and hopefully learn even more ! regards Andyp
