  1. not an ibizan hound but my sisters got a pharaoh hound that would have made a good rabbiting dog. it was just a pet but it was always bringing back bunnies live to hand, she couldnt handle it and sold it, id have liked to have kept it but my dog doesnt get on with other dogs
  2. wont happen if the dogs trained properly. my old bull x (r.i.p.) was fine, i worked it but the missus loves taking it to do agility and all that fancy heel work stuff. he was an angel on the lead. im going through the same process of training my new one as i did the old and he will turn out the same. at training the misses says he out preformes the german shepard and the collie which are both his age and both arent very good with other dogs, which contradicts the aggresive, stupid bull breed which most people like to assume they are. hes got a good nose , as did the old dog and they both h
  3. i would my sister works for a rescue centre thats only for lurchers and greyhounds. thet get a lot of dogs through that have confiscated by the police when they have caught people poaching or from gypsy sites so you can get some good workers from them. most of the dogs become pets though even if they come from a working back ground. i borrow her suluki cross somtimes (to help teach my dog) its a good rabbiting dog. you only have to make a donation if you have a dog from this rescue they ask for 100 pounds but some tight b*****ds give alot less.
  4. the guy i work withs from lithuania he says they do it there but with german shepards. he says they do it to sell them to rich guys with more money than sence. he rekons most of the time the gsd never make it back but if they do if the pups are born with black tounges then you know that a wolfs shagged it.
  5. you still get the old types of bullies in pakistan and india there called gull terr's. they have been bred the same since they were imported there when we owned india.
  6. i hate to be the one to tell you , but whatever running dog you have will have a trace of bull in it. whether it a greyhound or whippet . both have at one time no matter how long ago have bull blood in its genes. not every bull cross owner is the same either nor are bull crosses. im sure every family has the occasional physco in it. does that mean every member of that family is physco? youve obviously never owned a bull cross. theyre level headed, keen to please, faithfull dogs.rember tonight to thank lord orford and the whippet racers for making your lurchers that bit better i remember re
  7. show us the pics please. my mastiff x is very protective . hes only young but hes had a few bunnies on the lamp aswel
  8. who has a bull x to look hard.... NOBODY, if people wanted to look hard they would get rottweilers. real pits not lurchers. moron! my bull x is used on rabbits as pest control so they dont dig burrows in my horses field and break its legs. alright theres better dogs for this job but i like bull breeds so what? i first cross bully would be to hyper active for me so mixed with a greyhound it makes a good chilled out pet aswel as a practical dog to have around the yard, bull x's are excellent with kids and know to be very people friendly which is a bonus for when people come onto the yard to see
  9. here hes is he was 9 months old in the photos hes now 14 months old i need to take some new ones of him. action shot he looks weird lol
  10. lovley dog. lurchers do make great pets aswell i do try and preach that to everybody that i meet i think that my mates one is a first x it looks just like a slimer shorter haired gsd, hes got the chilled out greyhound side aswel. i know a gsd x thats for up for adoption but its not very good with children ive got a first x bullmastiff x greyhound hes an absolute nutter lol
  11. stunning dogs, strapping dog the red one bet it flies, my sisters got a suluki x grey a good dog but if another dog runs away from it, it will attack it even if it knows the dog. just tries to kill anything that runs.
  12. i like the gsd x greys my m8s got one just as a pet its a realy nice dog very trainable, hes a big lad though and can get quite protective though somtimes. do you find that yours is quite protective? is there many of these crosses about anymore? could you stick a picture up of yours please?
  13. pits are not only extremly game but are also the athlete of the dog world they will put 110% into everything they do. ridgebacks are show dogs in this country and youd have to go all the way to south africa to get a good one. they fall into the same catagory as mastiffs in this country.... ruined.
  14. baldockbanks coursing do you know anybody from the potton and hatch sites?
  15. ive got a first cross bullmastiff x grey quite quick, wel muscled hes only 14 months though
  16. staff x bullmastiffx greyhound done by the same guy who done the plumber terrier.
  17. i wouldnt do that job for any money..........why arent rotties banned then? at the moment in the uk its only fighting dogs that are banned. even though rotties kill more people around the world than any other breed of dog.
  18. dont you think that theres enough shit dods in rescue homes at the moment, never mind dangerous ones. is ok to say lets breed this lets breed that all the time but a proper dog man has a responsibilty to the care and welfare of these dogs. we live in a throw away culture and dogs are treated like peices of shit now adays anyway just breeding and adding to the unwanted dog population would be somewhat irresponsible.
  19. I'm a bit pissed off your bull cross owner baiting has'nt paid off i dont understand this bull x baiting, all the non bully owners saying guys who have bull x,s just wanna look hard or want to make there cocks bigger????? when thats realy not the case if we wanted to look like hard men then surley we would just get real pits? or the biggest rottie we could get our hands on. how in any way is a lurcher a hard mans dog? we get them for there working ability on certain quarry and the fact that they have good bone and toes. also there very good with the kids, very loyal, loving and dont m
  20. watch this like about dog bite power
  21. i actually doubt that a pit has a more powerfull bite than a ridgeback. a pits bitting power is greatly misunderstood a pits head shape is wide which makes it ideal as a sort of shield when fighting, but its the depth of the head and the amount of leverage that can be used in a bite which makes the power. a gsd bites harder than a pit and so do most mastiffs. ridgebacks have very large powerful heads aswel. im not saying that pits dont have a hard bite cos they do i think its just that they WANT to bite more than most other breed of dog as opposed to them having the most powerful bite,
  22. heres a well know mastiff a poachers worst night mare. Frank Townsend Barton M.R.C.V.S Published 1905 To Mr. W. Burton, of Thorneywood Kennels, Nottingham (per gamekeeper), I am indebted for the following account. A perfectly trained and reliable night-dog is as useful to the gamekeeper as two or three additional assistants, and indeed, I personally heard old poachers remark they would rather face a dozen men than half that number accompanied by one of these animals, even if resistance would be offered at all where a dog was deployed against them. Such being the case, it make

  24. ridgebacks didnt hunt lions in the same sense as lurchers hunt. they tracked the lions and surrouded them baying at them until the hunter could get close enough to make the shot. riflrs in thoes days had poor accuarcy and slow loading times. the ridgebacks never actually attacked the lions, since then theyve been used as very efficient guard dogs and in australia used on wild boar to good use. i wonder how healthy they are?
