  1. Looks like you had a grand session
  2. The burrows I have to do are very dirty and the ferret is used like a terrier sometimes.I put him in the cover and follow the sound of the bell and as soon as I cant hear the bell its follow him with the locator. Some burrows I have to use the locator straight away and follow him. As soon as he stops Ive to burst through a load of blackberry bush to get on top of him to get my dig. Hes killing them that quick that If Im not quick enough to get on top of him and start digging hes of onto his next rabbit and yes a half dug hole would be left while I chase after him again and get a mark and start
  3. Sounds like its not the sport for you ... Two 3ft digs for four rabbit anit to bad...atb love the digging, sounds like hes starting of well for you.Best of luck with himCheers mate ... I was surprised he done aswell as he did .. He entered like a pro lol...atb Yeah love it when it comes of like that. The burrows I ferret dictate that a decent buck gets used. Ive used jills and they do well enough but better results with buck.Quicker to dig down to dead rabbits than try and net up dirty ditches and like you said the jills can get some run around in the burrows at times.
  4. great pics, some lovely country there

  7. nice, I know colour doesnt matter once they work. With the dirty dark ditches I do it helps if the ferret is a light colour. The old eyes arent as good as theynused to be

  10. Great post, whats the Bulldog in the pics.
  11. Thanks, there only starting really. I got the 2 terriers for marking the burrows and watching the holes, either stopping the rabbits from bolting and backing into the ferret or grabbing the rabbits at the entrance as they tryn to bolt from the ferret. The burrows are too dirty for putting nets down. They are starting well with marking, rabbits have backed down the burrow entrance into the ferret and I just put my arm down and pull it out as the ferret is killing it.Saves on some digging and they have caught a few as they tried to bolt from the hole.So when the smaller one decided to start goin
  12. Out ferreting today, hardship to get into the burrows.Got five rabbits, 4 diggs after breaking through lots of blackberry bushes. Averaged 3 foot the diggs, lots of stones to chip away to get through to rabbits. Enjoyed the day. The thing is Im bringing on a couple of russel pups. There about 12 months now. Theyve been out a couple of times now and are doing well enough for me. The thing is the smallest of the 2 russels shot down the burow out of site and dragged the rabbit out to the entrance by the arse and the ferret had the rabbit by the head. Question is what do people think is this good o
