  1. Thanks, I think vets are only realy for surgery most other things can be sorted without them. Your doing well having a good one.
  2. Hi where abouts are you living in Ireland.Im in Dublin. Is your vet near me for if I need him in the future.ATB Ray
  3. The lad that had the dog before us fed raw all the time.My beagle is on the same diet all the time and she has only got the red on her paws a few days ago.
  4. Im not too keen on going to the vets. Charge you a fortune and most the time they assume it migh be something its not. The redness between the toes they would probably say it a reaction to food or grass or something. Like you said one of my beagles is getting it on her paws. I havent been in a field in a week.I noticed it coming on my beagle.moisture is to be avoided. When it gets wet it seems to get worse.I stopped bringing the beagle out and keeping her dry and it has stopped getting any worse. Ive been treating the other dog for about a week and a half. She has it bad on her tail, bag tighs,o
  5. Im treating a dog with a fungal skin problem with antifunal products. The thing is has anyone treated there dogs for fungal problems and if so how long did it take to sort it out. This is my first time.Theres always something new with dogs.
  6. Good stuff, great to see someone working Glens, from the picture i was thinking dig the glen and use the Bitch at the end, hard to know anything from pictures. is the Glen from working lines?good luck with them both Bryan The Glenn is KC like most Glenns. The gene pool is so small at some stage they have bits of each other in them. I was looking for these elusive working Glenns. Some of the people that worked Glenns when I got the info and looked into what they bred sure some of there breeding was in my fella. The sire of my dog was used alot. He didnt work but was putting something into
  7. Yeah Scent, I was delighted for the dog. He is still young.Thanks.
  8. She is a good bitch, she has a good head on her shoulders. She could probably do with a bit of a stripping out. This time of year shes better off with a bit of coat.
  9. I was out with patterdale085 saturday. The crack was great and the digging even better. His black bitch done brilliant. She worked her little socks off to get a good end to our day. She was working below ground for 2hours 35 mins. The earth was huge so she done brilliant to get her quarry in a stop end and hold it for us to finally reach her.We dug down and broke through to her. We where very pleased to open up to see what she had in the stop end as usuall. We took the bitch out and the Glenn done well. The bitch The dog Glenn went 2years the end of July. Hes still only young.
  10. Well done keep up the good work. Its great to see kids getting out.
  11. Depending on the position of the hole I set mine different. In some holes i will drop the ring in first for a couple of inches and open the net around the hole then, others you have to put the net over the hole as best you can. Some holes on banks in ditches can be a headache to get a net over.
  12. Good luck with them. Hope you do well
  13. Ha Ha very good. The kid just went 6. Hes well able to hold a ferret the orthodox way. I seen professional footballers the weekend miss open goals and hit them wide, and there grown men. Sometimes I will pick a ferret up in different ways myself depending on what way the ferret presents itself. Sure there was times I had mucky hands digging the ferrets ,putting my hand up the hole. Ive grabbed the ferret arseways thinking he was a rabbit and pulled it out by the fur. I couldnt feel the differece because of muck.
  14. Fair play to you, its great to see. Keep up the good work.
  15. He certainly has. He started primary school last month. The fella is nuts. Theres no fear in him at all. He will nearly grab anything. He loves the animals and the fields. He cried last year when some of his fields where getting built on. He hated builders for a while. Yes there all his fields. My other kids get out aswell, but at 10,12,14 and 17 there are other distractions. I will still get them all out a good few times over the season weather they like it or not. Its something they can always come back to or get mad into in the futher. I think this fella might stick it out more than the oth
  16. Good stuff lads, keep up the good work
  17. Sorry to hear that. It was like a summers day.Well for the few hours I had the son out for. Very warm
  18. I can see it might not look to good but thanks to this fellas rough handling you could pick the ferret up by the ear or the leg and it wouldnt bother it. The young lad is nuts he is very rough. He is great at training the pups and terriers. He pulls out of them from all parts. Gets the dogs used to being grabbed, after this fella is finished the dogs are used to being pulled out from any body part. Handy if your in a tight spot in a ditch or hole and alls you can grab is a leg or a tail. Ferret wont bite you or the dogs.
  19. nice pups good luck with them
  20. I think he was missing a bit of company his own age. The majority of the time he was grand. He was using the locator, watching nets and entering the ferrets. Grand fella.
  21. Thanks, hopefully in a few months before the end of the season I will have the other beagle out helping a bit.
