There was a few if you want to call it normal sized rabbit holes. After we dug to the fox we found a couple of holes a bit bigger.These where hidden more by some cover.

tell me about it, I did dig down to a couple of ginger rabbits over the winter. The ferret was lucky I think. He was clamped onto the foxes side and only let go when I broke through to him

Packed the ferrets and gear away about 2 weeks ago.Itching like mad since.A friend who started ferreting with me this season got permission of his friend to walk some fields yesterday , loads of burrows and a few rabbits where seen. Yes like kids in a sweet shop we decided to put our lives at risk and get out for a couple of hours while the mothers are still in bed (mothers day) We hit the road early. We did that so we could get back to help the kids with the breakfast in bed for the mothers. First rabbit was a couple of feet dig, no dogs where aloud as the surrounding fields had sheep in them

bright coloured ferrets so I can see them better and bells so I can hear them better.Make sure youhave a few spare ones to change as they do get clogged up. I got my bells in a fishing tackle shop.They where connected to a piece of plastic that you connect to the top of your fishing rod as a bite indicator. Didnt like the small cat bells

another good day had keep it up, more or less finished today. Just got a friend and the pup out on her own without the lurcher to get some experience on her own. Murphies law. Some lovely long runs that would have been ideal for the lurcher. Happy withwhat the pups doing. She is marking very well and every burrow she marked there was a rabbit or 2 at home. Roll on september for more ferreting.Pup should make a decent ferreting dog. Ill get her out mostly bushing from now till sep and bringher on that way also
