    Even the bunnys need as much help as they can get round my way, no bunnys no sport, let them breed and don't ferret them and maybe have a better season with the dogs come september

    I had a George Kelly bred bed whippit / greyhound, very good bunny dog, I would have another if the breeding was as good 24"tts , the bed cross dogs I've seen recently are nothing like she was , wonder if anybody has Kelly bred dogs now?

    Left one by the kennels once , dog was barking at it in the dark in the morning thought strange as I hadn't baited it got back from walk with dogs and put my phone light on it and saw more than one took it in field and there was 9 juveniles!

    This young dog has seen plenty of gear,99.9% of lurchers & their owners in this country could only dream of what he's seen & had his jaws around but like I say he or ANY of the other Romeo breds I've seen are nothing other than mediocre in my eyes,to some they may think they are world beaters & at the end of the day it's their prerogative to do so I'm just a realist & say it as it is..I had never any intention of keeping back a pup & still don't,I'm done with the game after 3 more trips out..Game Over I've earned my seat infront of the tv,done 700 miles yesterday to go run

    Went on shoot ground today, went in maise with her kept her close but very excited, watched birds leave and go into small wood, walked behind birds which she saw a couple of but didn't run in kept quite tight till the end of wood then ran in ignoring the stop whistle , chased into field with me chasing her she finally stopped , I started blowing whistle repeatedly whilst correcting her, went back in wood she flushed a couple and stopped on whistle then one flew into release pen wire getting stuck she snapped at it a couple of times before sitting to whistle whilst watching bird trying to get o

    Thanks for advice, rang keeper earlier and he gave me the green light to go on land to try and train the dog some more and hopefully get it right again, it seems to think it can hunt up more now so I will have my work cut out , she was tight and observent before so I don't see why not again

    Don't wish to be controversial but I think if they are going to bolt they will anyway regardless of noise, at the start of the season I was doing hedgerows that needed cutting back branches snapping and clearing debris, rabbits still bolted, some had to be dug, snuck up to a burrow downwind no nets dropped ferrets in stood back with lurchers and ended up digging last weekend,

    Took my bitch on the last shoot for me this season and she was a different animal, up until now she has been in my eyes good, no running in only chased once and stopping to flush nearly every time, on Friday every hedge where a bird had gone up ahead she ran up blanking my whistle until it had flushed, then ran in on birds on a drive, then ran ahead and flushed then chased a bird, I couldn't believe it, she's coming up to 2 now so I know still young but a bit gutted as like I say she was doing well before, would it be the right thing to take her where there are birds and correct her when runni
