Leupold or Burris optics advise please.
Cernunnos replied to Cernunnos's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Mr_Logic. That's great and very promising. Did the points of impact on the reticle alter much with changes to the magnification. Were you able to change the magnification with your zeroing or did you only have the scope at one power setting?? The more common calibers on the guide you mention, does it include the 6.6x55? If not does it reference the 7mm08? As they are very similer to each other. Thanks for your help with all this. Cernunnos. -
low mounted scope and moderator
Cernunnos replied to lordarpad's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Lordarpad, Was talking to optics planet just the other day, about getting some custom work done on a scope. They informed me that Leupold does not allow them to sell their scopes i.e. Leupold outside of America?? Still a very nice looking scope thou. Hope this helps, Cernunnos. -
Leupold or Burris optics advise please.
Cernunnos replied to Cernunnos's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Mr_Logic, That's excellent. Did you zero for 100 meters first? If so did the other aim points hold true i.e. 200m, 300m, etc. I really like the idea of this reticle but need a zero of 100 meters, I am thinking of a fixed power scope at present because of this. Did you get the illuminated reticle? Can't wait to hear more, Hope this helps, Cernunnos. -
low mounted scope and moderator
Cernunnos replied to lordarpad's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
It sounds to me that the scope spiderpig is talking about is either the leupolds VX3-L or the VX7-L. Both of these lines have been made with a cresent shape on the bottom of the bell to allow for a lower fitting. The view through the scope itself is unchanged i.e. a full circle. Nice looking scopes I think, but expensive?! Hope this helps, Cernunnos. -
muntjack in ireland?????????????
Cernunnos replied to patdahat's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
Muntjack have been "found" in Wicklow, Wexford, Waterford, Cavan and Leitrim. Apparently there are wild boar in Cork, and Galway. I have not heard anything of Roe Deer although with the above 2 already released roe would not surprise me! Hope this helps, Cernunnos. -
Hi, If your still looking you might glance at the Blackhawk IVS Cheek pad # 90CP05BK. just put it in Google. Hope this helps, Cernunnos.

low mounted scope and moderator
Cernunnos replied to lordarpad's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Hiya. I have a mk 1 T8 fitted to my 6.5x55 with a 4-16x50 scope mounted on top. The tip of the bell is just 2mm from the barrel. The moderator does not impede the scope at all. IMHO this has a much to do with the excellent smith work done to fit the mod in the first place. Hope this helps. Cernunnos. -
Leupold or Burris optics advise please.
Cernunnos replied to Cernunnos's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Hi samasher, thank you and everyone else for the advise. A lot to think about. Do you all think a fixed power scope like the S&B mentioned ot a Leupold 6x42 would better suit the bill?? Cernunnos -
Hi All. I am looking for some advice please. I am looking to mount a new scope onto my 6.5x55 Tikka and have narrowed my choice down to two scopes. Either Leupold VXIII 4.5-14X50 with illuminated Boone and Crockett reticle OR Burris Signature Select 4-16x44 with illuminated Ballistic Plex reticle. I hunt mainly deer but do some fox and feral goat hunting also. Through trail and error I have found that my rifle has a preference for Federal 140 grain/ 9.07 gram soft point bullets, which I use for all my hunting. Leupold suggest a zero of 200 meters for there scope with aim poin

Double strap (school bag stlye) drag bags?
Cernunnos replied to Vegeta's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Hi Vegeta. I'm really glad you like the bag. It will accomadate a rifle 48" long, which for me means that I can go out with my rifle with mod fitted, scoped and ready to go out of the bag. I don't know if that what you are your brother are looking for but it will take a rifle 48" long. The p&p to Ireland by the way shouls be in and around £15:00. I think all in all it's a great package at a great price. Did I mention the bag is watwerproof? Talk to you soon, take care. Cernunnos -

Hya. You might also try looking at www.combatservicesupport.co.uk if you look in the cases section near the bottom of the product menu you will find a "Web-Tex Sniper Rifle Case" This is capable of taking a fully loaded stalking rifle i.e. scope, silencer, bipod etc attached. Also has extra pockets for equipment like rangefinder, binos etc. Completly waterproof. I recommend this site as it currently has this case at the best price on the web. Hope this helps, good luck.
