  7. Best way with tru oil is to apply a couple of costs allowing to dry between each coat then cut back with 0000 wire wool then reapply as many coats as needed to get the finish you want Allow to dry between each coat Atb rob

I Reccomend tru oil it's what I use on all my knives & catapults It's a lot easier to use than walnut oil or Danish oil etc With walnut oil the key is to apply very little at a time it you will get a sticky residue So I would go for tru oil buddy it's what they use on many gun stocks and shotguns Atb rob

  10. Looks really good that buddy them bands look familiar Atb rob I've never used bocote on any of my hybrids but will be once I get some spare time I've got some nice laburnum forks waiting to be done

  12. Hi buddy teh the oak should be plenty string enough I do bands at £5.50 per set posted Atb rob The poach on them eBay ones looks to thick and heavy to me

  14. There is no size in writing to be honest but longer forks will cause more stress on your wrist so always go for shorter forks a 50mm ish Atb rob

Hi there buddy best thing to do 1st is cut away the handle from the blade so we can see what the tang is like With hidden tangs I usually notch it along the tang drill a whole into the wood for the handle the same size as the tang fill the hole with aroldite epoxy (the cheap stuff can be brittle and not so good) Then clamp it up allow to cure then shape and finish the handle Atb rob
