  6. thanks lads i appreciate the advice a local lad told me to start with a barn owl but it didnt seem to make practical sense to me, yes i would gain experience looking after birds of prey but would gradually outgrow the bird as the hunting would be limited (am i right in thinking this ive never seen barn owls hunt anything bigger than mice n voles) but wouldnt want to part with the bird as once i take on an animal good or bad its with me for life havent the room to keep more than one bird so it needs to be bird that can grow with me ive seen harris at shows they are beautiful looking birds can
  7. let me first start by apologising this is prob the gazillionth time someone has asked this question but what is the best bird to start off with that wont have limitations in its use as i progress in experience as in i dont want to get a bird then have to part with it.im looking for a bird to work rabbit with ferrets would be grateful for advice thanks
  8. dogs mature slower than bitches, everything will fall into place with him as his confidence and the bond between you grows in time and you will wonder what you were worried about ,good things come to those that wait.

  10. anyone off here going lovely grounds should be good show hopefully
  11. good on you for taking it on nice looking dog as for age and breeding its anybodys guess really but i would hazard a guess at deerxgreyxbeddyxgrey and about 15 to 18 month old but could have number of other breeds in its makeup that only present in personality of dog but main thing is your happy with it hope it does you proud
  12. SHE IM THINKING?? NO LIPSTICK IN 1ST PHOTO... IS IT CROSSED WITH A SPANIEL TO BRING RABBITS BACK? MINE WOULD NAIL THEM THEN EAT THEM... LOVELY EXAPMLE THO MATE,, VERY NICE HE OR SHE... ATB aye its a bitch mate no spaniel works like one tho bright as a button since a pup just picked everything up naturally hand signals, quartering and retrieving which comes in handy when shooting hasnt had any serious ground work as yet just pushed a few drains out with her only problem with her is shes a noisy little b*****d when travelling and hyperactive constantly even for a terrier shes mad as a bott

  16. depends whats in fashion that week suppose or what someone asks for .its that old romantic image of times long since gone that people think they are buying a peice of were these legendery lurchers any better than the dogs today ? different maybe because of the type and style of hunting back then but i doubt better
  17. seen bedale show advertised wondered if its any good as in is there much there apart from dog show like stalls, food ect. is there many people going
  18. exactly sandymere maybe unfit thinks we should follow kennel club and breed from dogs that have poor composition ,movement, turned out elbows ect imagine how good these ugly dogs would have been if they had been well made. working ability and temperament composition are paramount to me in a dog if its handsome so be it if it turns out ugly it will still be the apple of my eye beauty is in the eye of the beholder
  19. this picture looks empty but its my dogs in stay training they are just below tree in centre no big deal but proud of their progress so one of my favourite photos
