    be beating again this year on some local shoots to get foot in the door but its not easy a lot of it boils down to trust i think and when i offered to work for nowt last year they looked at me as if i was mental and didnt take me seriously maybe this year they will see i am deadly serious about a career in gamekeeping theres no rose tinted glasses here i know the shit that comes with it

    i put good layer of shavings in bottom of bed area then straw on top, this i do all year round. i find in summer the ferrets tend to sleep out in the run most nights either in the open or in pipes i use straw for dogs bedding aswell you can get problems with mites so i spray it with mite treatment before use it

    for a pure blood working dog it would be a good coursing bred greyhound bitch not too big but big enough for most jobs if you get me. i do like whippets but there a bit limited due to size for some jobs.

    yes but if you read the nutritional info on both fezzer and cat biscuits they are almost identicle only very slightly different it's up to you what you feed you little 'uns but remeber two things ferrets need plenty of water with biccies and at some point they need meat. ATB kie apart from cat food being made from vegtable protein

    seen alot of people comment on how they mix dry cat food with ferret, why when everything they need is in the ferret food, what is it you think they are gaining from the addition of the cat food.but my question was would you feed them cat food alone nothing else i know im ruffleing a few feathers here but not really bothered i think the world of my ferrets and try my best to make sure they happy and healthy

    theres fook all right with it either its not designed for them so why feed it to them when there is food specially for ferrets if your going to feed dry food, the people who did the research on the best feed for ferrets didnt do it iver a couple of years they did it over many years and scientifically tested not some backgarden breeder who after couple yrs decides they know the ferrets nutritional requirements because they still alive when i first started with ferrets people still believed in feeding milk sop with egg but that mentality has gradually given way as should the cat food but hey wha

    exactly mate i cant get my head round it its not like ferret food is more expensive or harder to find why cat food i know its got high protein maybe ok for emergency but not for regular everyday feeding is it just me

    young lad wanted a kitt from me so i went to have a look at his place to see where it would be kept and thats when i noticed that he was feeding dry cat food when i told him i would only give him the kitt if he fed it ferret food he said he had fed them cat food for years and theres nothing wrong with it when i asked why he seemed baffled at my question like thats what everyone feeds them on when i explained i fed mine rabbits most of the year until hot weather then feed them james wellbeloved with some raw eggs and raw meat every couple days to give them a change from the dry food he just sni

    used to hunt with my mates father john bailes whos sadly passed a few years back now, hes pictured in frank sheardowns book with his collie whippets cracking little rabbit dogs great tenacity and inteligence always amazed me they were a joy to watch work but a little small to be used on larger quarry but if i just hunted rabbit that would be the cross for me no hesitation

    yeah had to laugh at that myself put that on before he went down for surgery as if they wouldnt have known at a glance what was there for, spent full day in the hospital nearly waiting for surgeon to come to hospital as he was at home. we were only at harewood house for an hour or so had a walk round had a ridiculesly over priced breakfast then put an arrow into his hand he didnt even know hed done it said he never felt a thing, bit of a sureal day one minute im watching the lurcher racing next thing im in back of an ambulance thinking what the f##k. hes a member on here im suprised he hasnt b

    most bitches lose weight and condition after whelping especially if it was a large litter plus if it has any percentage of saluki in its breeding they look malnourished at the best of times or was it the conditions it was kept in that ticked you off, pictures and more detailed info would help
