  1. Nobody's knocking your dogs! Their mocking you for your stupidity, entering a pup is totally rediculous, what's the point, let them be pups for at least a year.
  2. Raw meaty bones! Can't go wrong. Read the thread FEEDING THE DOGS. Just ignore the whining she will soon stop.
  3. Half my dogs live out, half in. Just feed your dog in one room and make sure you wash the floor and surfises (SP), as you would do with your own food. When the weathers nice out him out. Shouldn't be a prob with the babe if you stick with good hygiene.
  4. I have 8 dogs kenneled together and have no problems at all. 3 greyhounds a borzoi, grey/whippet/beddy, beddy/whippet, bitza, and a whippet hybrid. 2 ENTIRE dogs, 3 ENTIRE bitches, 2 SPAYED bitches and 1 CASTRATED dog. The 2 intact dogs are father and son and have never argued, when 1 of the bitches comes in heat, she comes in doors, so males don't have a reason to fight. They all get fed together, there may be a few growls from the older members but they are a pack with a firm set hierarchy.
  5. Well at the moment im still searching for a supplier, but i'll get there and i definately won't turn back. My daughter has totally stopped the kibble and she is determined to find a supplier. But her 2 at the moment are getting chicken wings, and thighs. This should be ok for a little while. The dogs shite is rock solid and a light colour, bootiful!
  6. A have a fair few dogs mainly 23'' plus and 23kg plus. Im geussing my daughters 2, will need far more than 2-3 chicken wings then! I have looked at rainmakers website and it's great, totally changed me. He says most butchers will gladly give all the waste to you for nothing, or a small donation.
  7. Well i never thought i would be doing this! BUT Rainmaker has inspried me, i feel awful feeding them dry, now i've read the facts. I'm going to phone around tomorrow and ask plenty of butchers etc for all their waste and start. My daughter has already started with her 2 dogs, she went to the supermarket and bought 10 chicken wings for £1.40. Now she wants to know if this sounds right. She measure how much dry food she gives them and then measured the wings out the same. The lurcher weighs 29kg and measures out 2 chicken wings, the borzoi weighs 33kg and measures 3 chicken wings, does thi
  8. I have a half collie/grey. He is fast for the cross, but he's quite racy. He never runs out of energy, loads of brain, too much most of the time. He excels more with deer and fox, but he doesn't have a problem catching rabbits. I prefer the 3/4 x, but this may be too big for you, my bitch is 25.5'' ats and my pup is 18'' and only 13 weeks! If i were you i'd get a 3/8 5/8 collie/grey, you won't go wrong, average size 23-24'', plenty of brains and stamina and you haven't lost the speed. All 3 of my collie/greys are from hancocks. 1/2 Greyhound 1/2 Border Collie 27'' ats. 3/4
  9. I agree you get out what you put in  Any particular reason you prefer dry food? Yep, i feed jameswellbeloved because it is hypoallergenic, no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives and the dogs love it. Dry food is easy to store and easy to feed, i beleive and this is my opinion, that scientists have spent many years producing high quality complete feeds for dogs so there is no reason to try to do it yourself. If i fed mine on the barf diet i would be to worried that i'd miss something important out of their diet. Most of my dogs wouldn't eat fruit or veg either.
  10. Nice selection of colours there fella. Keep us updated as they grow.
  11. I haven't really tried to work my greyhounds, though they have seen the lurchers on odd occasions they would of had a go. They haven't had any injuries yet and they go out running alot. But they are very placid with other dogs large and small they just want to play, and they are very obedient, they sit (only for a few seconds), lie down and they come back when called oh and give paws. I have had no problems with them, in fact they are the 3 easiest dogs in my household to look after.
  12. Pups i feed on Jameswellbeloved puppy (dry food) up until 12-18 months old, then change to Jameswellbeloved adult. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Never fed barf stuff, never will.
  13. Well some people may laugh at me but i don't care, as im a weak woman i can't put 1 in a head lock or try to make it go down, tried it before and got kicked several times and nearly bitten! Dogs usually get them by the throat and pin em down, i carry a slip lead with me and tighten around the deers neck and give the lead to whoever is with me and then i slit the throat to let it bleed, then between the 2 of us carry it to the car and carry on. Can't bleddy do this anymore!
  14. What breeding is she? Whatever you do don't rush her, she is still very much a baby. Her bones and muscles still have alot of developing to do and running her too young will damage her. I don't run mine on anything until 12-18 months depending on the cross. Theres no rush, she has the whole future to start yet. For now keep concentrating on her training and let her be a puppy. :thumbs-up:
  15. Both dogs temperaments should be sound. Agressive dogs are a pain in the arse!
