  1. Thanks for the great replys fellas.
  2. With hugo my 12 and a half week old pup from my other litter.
  3. I think the shed and adding runs on sounds good. £3,000 is far too much money! I bought a second hand kennel for £350 in good condition and 6 dogs fit in it easily.
  4. I have always been told that bitches must be bred from by 4-5 years old or else thier pelvic bones get very stiff and tight, so making it almost impossible to mate and give birth, is this true?
  5. I am looking for a dog kennel with run, suitable to house 4-5 lurchers. Does anybody know of a reputable company that is quite cheap. I willing to pay £500-£600 max for one.
  6. Imo, the very earliest 2 years old. Also the bitch should have had at least 2 seasons. But i think 3 is an ideal age. Certainly no younger than 2 years old.
  7. Im looking forward to this competition.
  8. So sorry to hear that fella. How sudden. Just remember the good times.
  9. I don't think colour is of importance, a dog is a dog, whatever the colour. But i prefer merles, fawns and white and parti coloured lurchers. Im not a fan of black dogs, i think it's a plain and boring colour and theres too many black dogs about! :11: JMO.
  10. They have been eating all sorts. Those carrots were just a one off, the mum was supposed to eat them, but the pups had a try, they ate the pees, but the mashed up puppy food is the staple diet.
  11. Growing fast! Eating solids now, starting to develop their little characters and responding to our voices and wagging their tails, bless them, the fun begins! :11:
  12. Hes a very nice looking dog. Alot of greyhounds seem to be black, is it a strong gene in them?
  13. My pups are fed on beta puppy or jameswellbeloved until 12-14 months old.
  14. Bedlington/whippet x greyhound. This is an ideal cross for ferreting and lampng. They usually make around 22-24'' ats. I've have found this cross to be one of the easiest lurchers to train.
  15. Growing well, well done with them.
  16. I own the sire, he is a cracking dog, but im biased, he's not the fastest dog in the world, but quick for a 1/2 x. He is very intelligent, takes the odd fox with ease, he hates them with a passion Mustard on deer (roe and muntjak). Never caught a hare, but i don't expect him to, and he may be big but he doesn't struggle with rabbits. The dam is a pure greyhound shes an ex would have been track dog, her trainer had high hopes for her in racing, but she would not trap, her trainer tried and tried and he was quite dissapointed as she was showing promise, shes a very fast bitch and very k
  17. The sire is a border collie x greyhound. This is him. I wasn't taking the pics my daughter was, she got me to hold some of them, i was on the phone at the time. lol.
  18. These little blighters are getting huge! They are very forward also, they already have eyes open and have started walking, no way have i had a litter like this at 2 weeks of age, mind you i've never done this mating before and im not dissapointed. The dogs. The bitches. With mum. This one is staying. Not quite sure which one is staying out of these two yet, they are both gorgeous and it's really difficult, just waiting for the characters to come in. The white and brindle is a bitch and the red merle is a dog.
