    permission

When I ask the farmer/tennant/land owner or whoever if the have a problem and wouldn't mind me doing a bit of ferreting if they say there is already someone that does it I simply ask is he there often? if it is a yes I will say ok sorry to bother you but thank you anyway. If it's a not really I will say well if you would like I can be here once a week or whatever. 3 of my 19 permissions (Most are in the same area so manage to do quite a few bits of land on the same day) but the bits that I can't ferret that often I am honest and say I can't make it as often as I would like so if you get

  7. Investigations by local police have uncovered evidence to suggest Steven Gately had died suddenly on holiday following a motorbike accident rather than a drink and drugs binge. He was found in bed with skid marks around his helmet.

  12. Ok so I planned to go ferreting early this morning but slept through the alarm so it wasn't that early after all. I finally got to a new bit of permission which is quite small but seemed to have a lot of signs that rabbits where around. So I netted up my 1st warren and nothing came out, so moved on down to the open warren in the small orchard and as I done this a gust of wind blew a load of apples with 1 hitting me and now have a little bruise on my back anyway I stuck the ferrets down and 10 minutes later a thump of feet and a rabbit bolted through a hole that I somehow missed. 20 minute
  13. My ferrets go into college to get bathed by students, it's good because they get socialised and much more handled they also love it but end up smelling worst. JoeD

  17. I have had several 6gallon kegs from my local dump, sorry, 'recycling centre' on several occasions, all propper ones, some expensive one if bought new, just need a good clean, im allways seeing them there. All plastic though, but a lot easier to keep sterile than wood. Flip top bottles are expenive, the best ones though, couldnt tell you the best place to buy new. Have you got or gonna make ya press? I am looking up plans to make a press as I like my DIY stuff. They don't look hard to make. All the best, JoeD
  18. I am making cider this year, I have a good basic recipe great for begginers like me. All I want to know is where can I buy cheapish bottles from preferably the swing top ones but the self capping ones will be fine if not. Also if there is anyone that knows where to get empty kegs from, I would prefer wooden ones but plastic will do if not. Thanks in advance, JoeD
  19. Looks a nice catty mate, your son should be proud, I know I would be. JoeD
  20. Well to be fair to the college it will probably be a yes as the head of landbased industries at college and my livestock and animal behaviour tutors are both pro hunting. So I will ask if we could arrange that at some point. JoeD
  21. We had an RSPCA Inspector come in for a meet and greet type thing and one of the things he brought up was huntiung and the stress that us hunters put on both the animals we hunt with and the animals we hunt. When he said that the whole class looked at me and the inspector didn't have a clue what was going on untill one of the girls said to him that I am a keen supporter of the hunt and that I am a ferreter, and you could just see that he was disgusted. Anyway after his talk he asked if anyone had any questions and me and a few others put our hands up and he completely ignored me so my frie
