  1. I have just brought a new pup, a saluki x greyhound it's my 1st running dog and so excited, bit anxious but hey can only try my hardest.
  2. Exactly as the title says, how can I convert my quickset into a traditional long net as my basket takes up too much room. Joe
  3. As the title says, when are all of you starting ferreting again? I would like to say come end of September as the seasons are becoming shorter and shorter otherwise. Yes I will get a few young, but at the same time the landowners want them controlled, got some nice new untouched permissions that seem to hold a few and so I am happy and eager to start. Hope you all have a good season, Joe
  4. Okay if there is anyone out here who can draw to a good standard and can draw ina realistic but cartoon like way... a little like roald dahl style. Please PM me if you are interested. I will let people know more if you PM me. All the best, Joe

  8. Mine wont touch moles, tried it a couple of times.
  9. Grew them for a few years, haven't got pictures unfortunately but they do row massive, One I grew had to be lifted by 4 people! But they are normally okay to be carried by 1 person with a struggle. I say grow them as they are right fun, and easy, just water daily in the morning or evening, and feed it a bottle of cheap bitter once or twice a week and you will have big fruits. Also make sure the ground is well fertilised. All the best, Joe
  10. Got to say after having grown veg for many seasons, I am giving it a miss this year I am moving house and I got rid of my allotment as my neighbour took my fruit bushes off of my plot, as I had not been there for a couple of months due to me working and me being ill... after reporting it to the allotment manager, he said he thought we had left and gave him permission to take the bushes off my allotment, I was not impressed, words where exchanged and now I am no longer there, so once I have moved down to the somerset way, I will be trying to get as self sufficient as I can, as I can't do this
  11. You don't need to have a maker, just use a toilet roll tube and wrap newspaper round and tuck in the edges, works a treat. Joe
  12. I don't normally post in this section, and to be honest been quiet on the forums in general over the last month. But I am just wondering if anyone could tell me anywhere good places to fish for brown trout around Watford? To be honest I will travel 100 mile radius for a bit of fishing if I can make a day of it. If you don't want to broadcast any areas on an open forum you can PM me but if you don't want to share then thats fine too. I have just brought a bit of basic gear, and used to do it years ago and want to get back into it. Thanks in advance, Joe
