  1. Awww thank you for your kind comments! It helps that i'm passionate about my job, it never feels like work. I'm very lucky to feel like that every day.
  2. Here's mine. . . .Spider at 11 months.
  3. I swim my dogs daily and it's amazing the weight they loose from it, i keep mine pretty fit and lean but if i ever need to put weight on them, i just increase their food. Mine are fed barf and so lamb breast and extra tripe normally puts the weight on. I'd try just upping his regular food, but feed him more often, maybe 2/3 feeds a day. Sardines in tomato sauce are fantastic for joints, my aunty has a chocolate lab with dysplasia, and after starting her on a can of sardines for breakfast she now has no drugs to treat the condition at all. Obviously this depends on the severity of t
  4. What is it with labs and the NEED to nose plough, and excessively role in snow!! Lovely photos of some cracking dogs.
  5. And the very fact that it is a "pack effort" is why i am so passionate about hunting, i loved watching hounds work and do what they were bred to do. Thanks for the deeper insight.
  6. I agree with your point that "the pack leader" is not always the lead hound. In my experience before the ban was in place and i witnessed the demise of a fox, 1 single hound always arrived at his quarry before the pack descends. . . . . commonly referred to as the "lead hound", regardless of it's pack status. I think the terminology used was the confusion here.
  7. What a well educated and constructive response that was.
  8. I disagree, Pre ban when hounds hunted and killed foxs, 9 times out of 10 the lead hound with be the 1st to the fox.
  9. Just looked, very impressed. And full marks for showing them, many hide them away and are not brave enough to admit they are supporters. Thank you, i have lost work by having the hunting shots on there. I'm proud of what i do and would never allow anyone to make me feel wrong for being so.

    OMG

I LOVE Jack!!! Every girl needs a gay best friend, mine moved to America a year ago.
  11. Roughly every 15 mins, after eating, playing, feeding, sleeping, take it outside and wait till it goes then lots of praise and treats. Get a puppy cage for over night, it's rare that a puppy will soil where it sleeps so as said above will speed up the process. Patience and ignoring bad behaviour is the key. If it does go in the house by accident then make sure you use a special "accident" cleaner, from a pet shop. This will illimminate any scent left behind and discourage the puppy repeating in the same spot. If your committed then there shouldn't be any accidents and i'd say with a week t
  12. I don't have a picture but did anyone watch GMTV on Tues i think it was. . . . there was a photo of a life size polar bear made from snow!!! It was amazing!!

    HELP,

Little Timmy the Ledge! Thanks dude.
  14. In my opinion, dogs that are brought up around children, who are well trained and taught how to behave around a dog, should be fine. However there are always exception to the rule. As a responsible dog owner, if this situation was to arise, after ruling out illness i'd make an educated decision on the dogs future and place within the family. If i felt that having the dog PTS was the best option, i would do it no matter how upsetting it would be. There is a lot worse things that can happen to a dog than having it pts.
  15. Great advice from heart of wales, in my opinion it is about giving your dog confidence when teaching him to jump. Do not start him off over dangerous or too high fences as he'll remember bad expierences more than good. Hollie's method works for some but personally i find it makes the dog jump out of fear and panic, resulting in him being inaccurate and can cause injury. If you do use this method i'd say to stick at 2 ft a height you know he can jump easily. Start little, lots of treats and praise. . . . it's a collie cross right? He'll get it in no time!!
  16. My advice would be the same. . . . . it's very easy to de value your work. Good luck.
  17. I fell in love with them all!! still might be worth a call as i know the huntsman travels about with hounds from time to time. Long shot maybe but you never know!
  18. Fantastic shots, i love the lighting in them. Well done.

  20. Thanks! How's baby doing? What name did you choose in the end? x
  21. Since i started photographing hounds hunting 2 years ago, i've been desperate to get some shots of hounds in the snow. I love the photos of old that you see, with hounds in snowy settings with the huntsman on exercise. Here's my take on it from yesterday.
  22. That look is known to all that know kody as "wild eye"!!! It generally means that excitement levels are on over load and she has absolutely NO control over anything she does!! Thanks for your comments.
