  1. I watched countryfile last night online and saw that and thaught what a lovely dog, bet your well chuffed!
  2. I'm a D... Don't understand what the hell is going on here at all!
  3. Alone for me, usually wandering about looking how things have have grown since my last visit and enjoying the sounds of the birds that change throughout the seasons. Its good to get away from the sound of machinery and bell ends. And spent some time on your own.
  4. I previously messed about with a titan spring and had to cut a load off and had zero preload witch didn't seem right? The HW spring has a perfect light bit of preload that I imagine is how it should be - softer and a nice snug fit with no bounce.
  5. Cheers.... I'll get out with it soon and update!
  6. Same here with this 85! I'll get out with it soon and put a pic up. Will prob put a shot string up and a pic of a target after a bit of pellet testing.
  7. Here it is back together.... The nice shiny sticker.... The result - mega smooth! Nice and easy to cock and very quiet, zero twang and a very gentle nudge to the sholder when shot. Sounds like a completely different gun! It's shooting at 11.3 with AA fields. I'm over the moon!! I'll try put a shot string up later but was getting 6fps variation over 10 shots immediately after rebuilding.
  8. Here's a pic of the damage to the piston sleve caused by the rubbish designed old style cocking shoe.... It put pressure onto the sleve but the new style one runs on the cylinder with no pressure on the piston and sleve so I can now use a home made delrin piston sleve. With the old style shoe you could feel it riding over the spring coils! So the work done on it is - full polishing to a mirror Finnish on piston, trigger and cocking slot and a hone out of the cylendar. New vorteck piston seal sized perfectly to the cylendar for easy free sliding with perfect air seal. Gen
  9. The mk1 has a slanted front on the stock and mk2 rounded font.
  10. thanks, yes i can wait, but i would rather pay for the scope, atvb FT Dont up set me you would not like me when im up set lol when i say it free its free AND THATS THE END OF IT just get a good set of mounts for her atvbmac  thanks , lol, i will get myself a really decent set of mounts, anyway your a gent, thankyou ! atb FT You got a good scope from mac there! Don't skimp on mounts buy sportsmatch mounts and you will have the best.
  11. Cheers charlie caller iv had another test fit and it was the short stroke causing it to scrape! It must cause the piston to be at the wrong angle when cocking. This little 85 is like a mini hw80 so it's not a huge swept volume anyway but was worth a go experimenting.
  12. Very nice mac I rember that thread it was really good! I diddnt realise it was the same gun. Your making me want to try bluing now. Would be great to hear how that gun is going it looked great.
  13. Bloody hell that looks good! How did you do that?
  14. Bit of an update...... Very strange but after a tester putting it together with the short stroke kit and a spring cut to a nice lentgh with some preload it was only making 6ft lbs!, I was only testing to see what sort of spring power/pressure is needed to get it up to power. So I fitted a full lentgh genuine hw spring and the extra tension needed to cock it caused the back of the piston to be pushed hard against the cyl on cocking causing it to gall and caused a mark on top of the compression tube on its first cock! I could feel it so stopped immediately to investigate. It diddnt do t
  15. Good luck for the weekend mac have a good one!
  16. That sounds a great perm - happy shooting!
  17. Bloody awsome this springer fiddling is addictive!
  18. Cheers for the nice comments guys! I'll stick some pics of shot string and groups up when it's done. Got a wedding to go to this weekend so won't be done till weekend after but ill get there! And yes mac bikes are fun! And my riding sounds simelar to yours lol.
  19. Nowt wrong with that! Mine would be the same if I could get away with it.
  20. It's really enjoyable! And been a steep learning curve. It recoiled and rattled like mad! And smoked like a black powder shotgun lol I was a bit shocked such a nicely made gun was so poorly finished and had such a desighn flaw. I'll show you the old cocking shoe at some point and the damage it did to the metal piston liner. Yes it is an old trials bike in the pic I'll find a pic if your interested ?.... Its a rebuilt 1991 fantic 305.
  21. The vortek piston seal has landed So got to work on the short stroke extension. I put the latch rod into a drill chuck and covered the top of the piston in tape to protect it and spun it nearly down to size.... I then popped on the vorteck Piston seal (top quality strong looking seal) Then put the piston into the drill chuck and taped the end again and spun it a bit at a time until the short stroke extension and seal where flush with eachother and in between this testing it in the cylendar until the fit was perfect and moved smother down the cylendar with a perfect a
  22. Here he is https://m.(!64.56:886/Bromley-Son-Barrel-Blacking-Bluing-and-Browning-820775534655411/ Really good bloke and ok to post parts.
  23. There's a guy on Pigeon Watch called barrel blacker he does browning and bluing. I had a quote for damascus shotgun barrels browning and his prices where very very good!
