  1. My faveroute is the woodpigeon on toast with wild mushrooms and blackberries. Gonna get my arse out next week and get some nice meat ingredients for the freezer!
  2. Have you seen the mcqbushcraft channel?
  3. Iv no idea on that sorry! I only use .22. I tried a couple of other mods on but the hw was still miles better than them. Will be interesting to hear what others use and work well too.
  4. I got a hw on mine at 27ftlbs it's very quiet, almost the same as when it was sub 12 (same gun and hw mod fitted)
  5. I watch them too, really good videos!
  6. I not seen it in person, that pics from a trial cam I put in a fenn box. I got the bugger in the end - by putting a row of unbaited traps face on across the middle of the fenn box so when it went to climb over them it was forced to step on one of the pedals that worked on the 1st night.
  7. Iv got some video footage on my trial cam of a mouse that refuses to touch the trap bait every night - even a bait change wont tempt it. It even sits on the back of the kness trap E and licks peanut butter off the bar and still won't touch the bait on the pedal! Here's a pic.
  8. Cheers jonnie bravo. Your a star. If I get stuck I'll be in touch - Much apriciated!
  9. Rez iv tried to keep it as oldschool as possable in appearence without its "horrific querks" but still kept it's look as I remember my old HW85 that created so many great childhood airgunning memories over my younger years which branched onto other areas of the sport. But you allways look back. As guns get more refined it seems we loose track of what we had and the good old guns that got us going and get used to the modern guns that spoil that. My personal feel is the 85 brings both parts of old nostalgic gun with better performance together! God I must leave wine alone.
  10. Did you use a home made delrin spring guide? I'll have a look inside it then at some point.
  11. Nope it's a.22. Its missing it's foresight unfortunately - but got one in the pipeline.
  12. Yep. I'd show that some game. Looks the bogs dollocks. Is it loud?To be honest it isn't any louder than any standard hw springer but no twang. I diddnt want to take its retro look/feel away and get it screw cut and fit a hw mod. Edit: iv only shot it in the garden from inside the garage where all my guns have sounded loud!
  13. Here's a pic of it in together rez. Sorry it's only one iv got (off the thread) Its not gonna be like your vglide piston but still very smooth!
  14. Thanks jonnie bravo iv been wondering about this too but thaught there would be some kind of piston sleve in there allready. I had to smooth a tiny bit off the cocking shoe on the 85 to stop it touching the sleeve but I never heared a sound like this I only noticed by firing a few shots and stripping again to check. Everything was in perfect order.
  15. 1 month? Yeah? The 85? If so.... of course! Ok, up for that. Is it working and back together? Yep back together and shooting great!
  16. 1 month? Yeah? The 85? If so.... of course!
  17. Think you have a point rez. Suppose I could use it an an opertunity to learn another gun inside out (the 85 was crazy simple - Just a lot of elbow grease polishing very tough metal!)
  18. I'll have a look tommorow and update - I don't want to open it up to be honest incase I spoil it. If it is the cocking link galling any ideas what i should I look for?
  19. Lol. The sound you described - it is like that, but now 50 times louder!
  20. Thanks villaman! i just been looking online and found some info bout that it looks like there's a revised linkage? What should this type of galling sound like? - this sounds like something riding over spring coils would cocking link galling sound like that?
  21. Hi rez! Iv had a think and if it needs opening up I'll prob send it back to them I don't want to spoil their handy work allthough I would love to look inside too!. Iv just got in and had a quick look and now I'm indoors where its quieter it feels like it's something to do with the cocking shoe?! It still shoots mint so hopefully nothing wrong inside! I'll do a bit of research.
  22. Aww balls - thats what I suspected too. Just wanted a second opinion incase it could be somate else that i could check that diddnt need me to open it up without needing to if that makes sense. Thank you si!
  23. Cheers villaman, i baught it second hand and it will be passed any waranty. I'd rather fix myself if possible. Just looking for ideas what it could be as I can't ring until tommorow. Its been superb until now bloody gutted!
  24. Today on a wander before work I was after bagging something for my ferrets and took my hw99. Today all of a sudden it's started making a horrible noise when cocking - it sounds like a loud spring coil graunching noise. Iv only put just under 3000 pellets through it so surely nothings worn out? It's an imp and I really don't want to open it up and look inside as it still shoots mint. Does anyone have an idea what it could be? I had to go straight to work so not looked yet but and ideas what to check for would be great before I have a look.
