  1. I paid 145 for a boxed mint tempest recently if any more help as a guide.
  2. As the saying goes they don't make diamonds as big as bricks. My best perm in n yorks is acres and I'd rather have that on its own than the rest added together.
  3. The bend is soo slight but when you rub the shoe up it that's deffinately that sound, it's always been slight but after a few recent fruitless wanders it's been cocked long quite a long time so maybe that's why. Anyway it will be repaired like for like I'd never want to change the way it shoots, sfs have worked their magic I just hope it will be the same!
  4. Bloody great mark - sounds ace! And hardly fished lakes too. sounds a dream!
  5. Iv only just noticed after very close inspection the spring has a very slight bend, I expect this is why it suddenly started to touch the cocking shoe. I'll get it replaced with a sandwell one!
  6. Iv got a brand new unused standard one so I'll fit that. It shot amazing without a sleeve so I'll keep it exactly how sfs had it they know best! It will just be a clean and relube apart from the minor work on the cocking shoe.
  7. Thanks again jonnie bravo. I think I'll just clean it, re polish the piston, fit a new piston seal and lightly wet and dry then polish the cocking shoe and rebuild it to how sfs have set it up. You where right, it needed a clean out and re lube. Also a new piston seal.
  8. Today iv taken the plunge and opened up the imp and jonnie bravo you hit the nail on the head. (I'll keep the work done internally to the imp to myself out of upmost respect to sfs) There is room for a thin piston sleve so I'll fit one and thoroughly clean, degrease and rebuild with a piston sleve. What would be recomended as the best piston sleve material for one of these, it doesn't have a cocking shoe running on the cylender so if i use delrin will it put pressure on the delrin sleve material and chew it up? Cheers! Tom.
  9. "They would say" does that meet the terms ? I would say if that's ok as a reason then you can shoot them anywhere at any time whenever you feel like it as undoubtedly they will have been hammering a crop somewhere. That's my point. If anything can somehow be twisted to fit the GL, then why is there a GL at all? I'm in charge of the questions on this thread not the answers. This is also what I ment as it been unclear - sounds like you agree too lol.
  10. "They would say" does that meet the terms ? I would say if that's ok as a reason then you can shoot them anywhere at any time whenever you feel like it as undoubtedly they will have been hammering a crop somewhere. Exactly what I have been trying to get at.
  11. It's a ticky one walshie, I honestly think all my shooting meets the general licence but i shoot the odd pigeon over stubbles so dont know how that stands?, but in all fairness the birds have crops full of corn, beans ect. From fields next to it. Shooting on bird tables is bang out of order and hope people who do that are punished with the full force of the law.
  12. I think the circumstances they can be shot are spelt out in black and white. I'm just saying that people either choose to ignore those circumstances or put their own spin on them. I don't think nice meat was one of them....unfortunately. Oh well lol. I can see where your coming from tho. But ill defiantly shoot the next pigeon on the stubbles lol. Interesting debate! Atb tom.
  13. Clear as in species to be shot yes but circumstances meeting the general licence and are shot are shot under was your question why. At the end of the day they are pests and provide us with nice meat and help farmers with their problems. Win win.
  14. Mmm not sure what your thinking? Sounds like you think the general licence is vague and unclear. If so I agree completely! But rather than that than more guidelines complicating things further.
  15. Good point walshie, Got the thaughts rolling. It will be Intresting to hear others opinions but no doubt for example pigeons are a menace to someone somewhere and it's a team effort to control them. If it was made mandatory to only shoot them on the basis of witnessing them feeding on crops at the time or spreading a disease then shooting would be fooked!
  16. Bloody hell lol what should we do then? Stop shooting unless we witness it eating crops or spreading a disease.
  17. But surely you can't shoot something for what it might do but hasn't done yet? Very true walshie can't argue with that to be honest. Edit: no doubt they have been at some point tho.
  18. During foot and mouth outbreak 2001 I was in agricultural college and it closed for the duration of the outbreak. During that time I stayed on a farm helping out and mostly shooting keeping crows ect off the farm. Some good shooting that was!
  19. Cheers pianoman, so worth fitting on one then. I have used an rws 52 fac and wow that made hell of a noise!
  20. Often thaught about this too, when shooting pigeons on areas where there not feeding on crops directly at the time - then it's early shooting in perperation for when they actually are.
  21. Hi pianoman it's fac renewel time again in April next year and iv been thinking about asking for an fac hw80 (if I'm allowed 2 fac airguns that is!) And been thinking about this quite a bit - does a moderator quieten down an fac springer down well?
  22. That's what I thaught moxy. I dont think I could ask for anything more when it's not much louder fitted to the fac than sub 12.
