  1. Cheers david. I'll keep the thread updated whatever happens. So chuffed they are back in again!
  2. She is back now shaping the nest... He is in the tree kicking off at any bird that lands in the tree including magpies.
  3. Looking good for a B2. My mate had a B2 -2 I think it was called given the other week (Italian stock version the box called it) for a bit of messing we stripped it in my garage with a few tinnys as he was interested to see inside and.... A rear spring guide was fitted! A fairly decent piston seal Zero lube! Lots of rust in cyl! Lots of rust in barrel! We cleaned it our with wd40 and rags on sticks, cleaned it out with de greaser then put some sandpaper on a rod and polished the cyl then the piston in the drill chuck till they where looking good and shiney! When then lubed wit
  4. And today more material added.... Cant wait to see how they get on again! Fingers well and truly crossed!
  5. Last night she slept in the nest (as they allways have in the previous years they nested there).....
  6. Well after no action this happened the other day.... And all in one day!
  7. Well for the last 2 years the camera box was unoccupied apart from spiders and all sorts of other little visitors so during the winter I had a bit of branch trimming to do so cleand the box out again and after a bit of bodged repair work i then moved it a bit higher up the tree and onto another branch. Then we had this blue tit checking the box out the other week...
  8. Once I did a B2 stock and a lot of it was chunks of wood filler! So looks like you got one of the good ones.
  9. After much deliberation I think I'm going to send it off to shauny on bbs. I don't think I'll do a good job after my experimenting in the workshop! And want to make it the best it can be!
  10. Lots of bats out tonight finally - got them taking midges from round my head. Also seen lots of sandmartins in north yorks.
  11. Awww jjm keep hold of a good gun I'm sure the shooting bug will be back!
  12. Great to see spring is on the way! I saw my first bat of 2017 last Saturday night.
  13. Iv just been playing with the drill press on some scrap and thank god I did or I would have made a right mess! Having thaughts about getting it done properly now. Not easy getting that bit to bite in right!
  14. No I'm just gonna bring the stuff in and have a go when on night shift this week. Theres a base clamp to secure the piston so It can't move so I'm sure it can't be too difficult. I'm just planning on sinking 6 shallow 6mm recesses for the buttons to sit in then carefully polish them down until there's a nice smooth fit. Theres not a lot of room to play with so the buttons will be very shallow I bet but ill give it a go anyway. If it goes wrong I'll just order a new piston.
  15. Just an update - iv got the 6mm milling bit on the way and sorted permission to use a propper drill press. Just been polishing the piston ready for the bit landing. Hopefully if it arrives this week I can get the button recesses drilled in. If not it will be in 2 weeks time until I can do it.
  16. In 2004 my mate was homeless. Had a farm job with a house. Lost his job and home through no fault of his own. He was welcome at mine but stubborn to accept the offer and thaught he would find a place to stay his self. I went to leeds homes place with him. We qued together and there was a foreign person in front of us. He got paid for b and b accomadation. We got there he was given a leaflet for st George's crypt with a verbal warning not to go there as it was very dangerous. What a f***ing discrace to to a British young lad in trouble. It makes me sick 12 years later to have witnessed it. Oft
  17. Was honestly watching that as you posted it! Propper job!
  18. I'd like to place a button here where this round thing is as that rubs. Can I sink a bit in half a mill here in this? Or is it a important part that holds the latch rod? Many thanks Tom.
  19. I got a fly fishing holiday coming up so if i want to do it properly i might have to put it on the back boiler and get it all prepped and get drill bit ordered. Then go see my mate the engineer with a coffe and ask :-)
  20. Looks like it will drill a hole with a perfect flat bottom. I'll have a word with him. Want to do it myself so may ask if I can borrow the pillar drill :-)
