Iv always found small hooks dissappear out of sight down their throat so I use an 8 and definately barbless too so they can easily shed it if they gets deep hooked. A raw kink prawn can be slid up the shank and hold securely for a decent cast too while the hook point is just proud. Iv been experimenting with the twin or snig rig using 2.5 inch long 1mm solid carbon rods and pole float rubbers on each end and not had a single deep hooked eel on this rig. And for unhooking the best thing I ever Baught for unhooking eels is a slammo discorger, it completely covers the hook point on the way out an

I'd love to know too ?

Raw king prawns has ruled above everything else massively in my experience! I don't bother with anything else. on the Yorkshire waters Iv fished expemeting with 1 rod on raw prawn 1 and 1 on worm or small deadbats and all sorts including squid. Muscles work sometimes but the raw king prawn always wins 10 times over!!! I now fish 2 rods allways on raw king prawn and do well. lightest leads you can use and minimum resistance along with awesome bite detection such as delkims along with nightlights. Good luck!!

I bet that was interesting to watch.

Numb nuts and the silenced 410.

I'm really chuffed you baught one of these SD, it's suprising how quiet they are isn't it. Iv seen stocks for these go on ebay for around 20 quid. -
Here's a link to one.... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123818051906 Perfect period scope crystal clear glass and mine with took the recoil of every springer I fitted it to and a rws52 and never ever shifted zero. Check if you do get one it's made in the Philippines. I'd upgrade the mounts as JJM said thats what i had i think they are called sportsmatch DM60,s

A bueatiful classic rifle like that a Simmons whitetail classic would match its era and suit it down to the ground.

I know exactly what you mean regarding the 12 bore version it felt rediculous. iv never held the .410 version so I don't know what it'd like but I imagine it's still gonna be front heavy. The little folding alder .410 is ace. But so are the baikal version and Iv had a few of them in .410 and noise wise there isn't much between them.

Hi Phil, the adler is amazing! It's so tiny and light it folds up compact too. It's crazy quiet and doesn't even sound like a gun it is like a metallic clink noise. It's quiet even with standard cartridges. You can even hear the shot hit and rattle through the grass. The eley 3 inch subsonic 18g no.6 's are a good load too. I have the mossberg version in 20 bore and that is good but very front heavy. Sound wise the .410 adler blows the 20 out of the water as it is as loud as an unmoderated spring airgun. You could carry the alder round all day its so light they come with sling swivels fitte

Such a great offer and I'd love to take you up on that some day thank you so much!!!

It sounds a belter. Iv not used spring airguns for a couple of years now. And truth be told Iv been very slack and moved onto hushpower shotguns as Iv not been able to practice holdovers etc and so Iv just popped off close range rabbits with a head torch and my hushpower shotgun. Cowboy in the airgun section I may be! but with no doubt but it's been very effective. Airgun ownership is coming soon with a tbt kit and a Polish whatever I buy ? This has been my newest tool and very quiet too even with eley 28g 3 inch https://www.gunmart.net/gun-reviews/shotguns/adler-stealth-.410

Any sensible airgunners live in West Wales?

We have an open topped bird box in our back garden, it was like a drive through for magpies - they took chicks every day. Amazingly my whippet was running round the garden with a magpie in her mouth yesterday morning. I hope it was the chick stealer! -
Looks nice Jimmy. I had one made for an RWS excalibure. The spindle hole needed a little fettle with a drill bit then it was spot on. But it only lasted a month then the cycling part wore away. That was a few years ago now so expect the materials are stronger now. I found a HW .177 mag in a drawer the other day. I don't have a 100 anymore so you can have it if it's any use ?
-
Awsome shooting Jimmy. I replaced my airgun with a adler stelth .410 and the range is limited to 30 yards so I'm looking to get a new springer soon and I think it's goin to be a 97 in .177. That blue stock is bloody lovely ?

Lol respect your style ha ha! Just looked on shoothill guage map and it's well up. I wasn't asking where, got my little secret spots too ?

I had a few of these also 1987 models. The best era when their build quality was at the best. Is it a screw off back block? and stamped made in West Germany? If so it was made before the Berlin wall came down. A good strip, Polish, tbt drop in kit and uprated cocking shoe transformed mine. A very rare bueaty too in .177.

I bet the river levels will be really helping them get about at the moment. I found a huge fresh otter killed salmon here in north Yorkshire the other week on the U R E. Poor bugger was trapped in a shallow pool. Hope your conditions improve and good luck with your fishing. Atb Tom.
-
Good luck Devon minnow. Are the prawns for salmon ? And do you pick up other species on them? Cheers atb Tom.

Good plan! Where are you planning on going w.katchum? I cant go this year as I've got 14 more days of 12 hour shifts left to go covering holidays! 1st year I've not been there for over 10 years to wet a line at midnight. Are you gonna be on the swale?

I just canceled my direct debit and went to let them know on their online form that I don't watch BBC but looks like I'll have to do that bit tomorrow as it says I still have a direct debit set up. Shame on the BBC. I only paid my licence to keep them off my back but this was the last straw.

Now sold thank you.

That's bloody awesome well happy for you. Have you decided what rifles your getting?
