  11. hi all, i have just bought a 7 week old whippet puppy and is my first and I'm hoping to use her for working next year. i have insured her well for any illnesses or injuries. i was wondering if any injuries happen and what sort of things could / have happened to any of your guys dogs. i just wondered what to look out to prevent any happening when she starts working, thank you tom.
  12. i had one very similar to yours, but mine was made in Belgium with 2.5 inch chambers i really liked it but i returned it as it miss fired a lot - would love another in good working order! i found out mine was made in 1934 but had been used and abused. i posted some pics of it about a month or so ago. interesting guns, it feels like shooting a cap gun!
  13. a good attractor i used once was to blend some fish in a food blender (i used sardines from Morrison's) and shape them into nuggets, and put some pebbles in them (to make them sink) and then freeze them. i then threw them into my swim at the start before they defrosted. it was an experiment but worked because i had a couple of fish but it was messy to make.
  14. He should of ask before he bought and he may of save some money and got a better tool for the job i have used these indistructable single barrel .410 baikals consistently past 30 yards before with full choke and really like them, and the reason i didnt look around or ask is because i returned a faulty gun i just baught and exchanged it for a brand new wooden stock baikal single .410 so had to choose a gun from the shop, hence the question about the moderator not the gun.
  15. my dads old dog used to yapp really badly, it used to slow it down because when it ran around not chasing a rabbit without yapping it was twice as fast - it never stopped doing it. he was a collie x greyhound
  16. thank you i have purchased the Baikal single .410 today already, the fully moderated one is out of my budget so think i will try the 9 inch moderator
  17. hi all, does anyone have any experience using the hushpower 9 inch moderator (not full lentgh) on a single barrel .410? i am thinking of getting one for lamping but don't know how effective they are. thanks tom.
  18. i see this around me also. i also see the parents wearing pajamas while taking and picking their children up from school
  19. i had many hares with sub 12 air rifes they used to be round the grain bins at my old workplace quite a bit, allways 25yds or under though and always was humane like a rabbit
  20. i recently bought a .410 and the bores are really bad, worse than i thought. After many good soaks and brush outs, i asked a gunsmith to look at them and he said they are safe. but will they shoot / pattern the same as mirror bores or could they deform the shape of the shot and open up the pattern? i have used shotguns for years but never had any bore pitting in any of my guns before so am dubious. does anyone have any experience of such a problem cheers tom b
