I’d say the 97 with the Vortek tune as no twang (95 as very slight twang) and the 97 cocks smoother, accuracy wise I reckon about the same, but 97 is.22, 95 is .177. I was impressed how it bowled the squizzers over with the .177 AA Fields! What I have noticed is that every now and again it diesels the 95, maybe it’s where it is new! but bloody hell the pellet left like a rocket and smoked! I left all my PCPs at home today and took the 97 & 95 out, I think I will invest in some studs & sling for both rifles, more so the 97, it gets quite heavy after a while.

Zeroed the HW95 .177 at 32 yards early this morning (first time I have had a .177), all my other rifles are .22s and are zeroed at 28 yards. I had bolted on an old 3-9x50 Hawke Sport HD scope with mil dots, although a cheap scope I was pleasantly surprised how good the optics where, not using it for a while and been in my gun draw for about a year. All my other rifles are PCP and just recently acquired an HW97K and had it tuned by agrtuning, Tony Burton, never shot it with the Weihrauch spring & piston in. The 95K zeroed in, I was able to put not quite pellet on pellet, but not

3 less, well done!

Yes, it’s a new gun and I have cleaned the barrel, am shooting AAField 4.52.

Thanks....

Bought some new Hawke mounts, mounted the scope yesterday, will try and zero the rifle today. Is it worth putting a good few pellets through the new gun before finally zeroing? Cheers...
-
??? lol... Set the 95 up today ready to zero when the weather breaks here in Kent!

Hi all, Put my Hawke mounts on my HW95, and they are a gnats cock too short, the x50 objectice end is just touching the gun! Can I shim the mounts?, as if I go the next size up I will have to wind the elevation right down I would imagine. Cheers...

I have definetly got the Springer bug! What should I zero a .177 at? all my .22s are zeroed at 28 yards, never had .177 until now.

Just an update, bought an HW95K in .177 today...definetly got the bug!

Do Weihrauch have white writing on the end of all their silencers now then!!??

Couldn't wait!, so picked the rifle up this afternoon, the guy at my local gun shop threw in 2 tins of AA field, 4.52, saying they shoot well through the .177 in his experience too, but again try others if needed. Going to set it up this evening and mount the scope ready for zeroing tomorrow. I will probably shoot the rifle for a while before tuning it, will it need any lubricant on the breech block hinge & barrel lock before use, use a light gun oil?? Cheers...

Well, done it, just ordered an HW95 in .177, pick it up tomorrow morning. All my rifles are .22, what’s a good pellet for the 95 in .177?

Out of interest, has anyone had their 95 tuned by Sandwell Field Sports, what are your thoughts, I've heard mixed reviews?
-
Probably my ignorance but I find them a decent read, especially with the oncoming dark nights, feet up, fire on, and a shot of decent malt whisky. Can anyone recommend any other decent books of the same ilk?

Not even sure if this is the right forum for this post, sorry if it isn’t. Just finished a couple of cracking books from a modern day country man, Brian Plummer (Dr David Brian Plummer, full title) the 2 books I have recently read are In Pursuit of Coney and The Adventures of an Artisan Hunter, although not related to air rifles they give a good insight into the countryside and life style most of us like. Winters coming, dark nights, TV is c**p at the moment, a tot of whiskey helps me read better too!

I'm looking at a HW95 Luxus in .177, then probably give it to Tony Burton for a Vortek PG-3 tune and polish. I like the look of the lighter weight for hunting all day.

Hi all, Been looking at buying a break barrel to compliment other guns, HW100 .22, FN19 .22 and the HW97K .22, looking at other reviews I was thinking either the HW80 or HW98 in .177, what are your thoughts? A wild card, HW90 with the Theoben gas ram, anyone used one? If it’s a springer in fairness I will probably send it straight off to Tony Burton for a Vortek tune. Cheers...

Hi all, I went out again today, visited a permission I have had for years, a small woods but always as it’s fair share of squirrels and rabbits. The last few times I have been out I have left my HW100 & FN19 at home, more so to get used to the HW97K and getting used to shooting a springer. I have to say the more I shoot the 97, the more I can’t put it down, there is something very satisfying for me about shooting a springer, I can’t really explain it. I sat under an Oak while looking out at further Oaks, and some Chestnut trees, it wasn’t long before 2 squirrels appeared chasing

Cheers, Will the barrel band on the underlever support the rifle okay?

Hi all, Having been out shooting with 97K all day today, I think it's time i put a decent sling on it. Which mounts would I need, more so how would the sling connect on the muzzle end of the rifle? Cheers...

I thought you could buy the 3D printed inserts for them, does anyone know where you can buy them from? Looked on the internet and can’t find any links...

Agree, it’s a cracking rifle, so accurate too! I think I will leave mine as it is, keep the original lines. I will be out tomorrow with mine for a mooch round a woods i shoot on, I find the more pellets I put through it the smoother the rifle becomes (about 200 through it since the Vortex tune).
