  1. Hi all, i currently have a berretta a303 which i can hit things with(occasionally) but got the chance of a trade in for a brand new W&S 812b. TO change or not to change that is the question. I would appreciate your views.
  2. Go on buy a ruger its a cracking gun. (Go fo a cz i did )
  3. A local lad passed a pheasant on to me the other day. He said he had shot it with his .22lr rifle. I know he is allowed to shoot the game on his permission. What i am asking is is it legal to shoot game ie pheasnt, ducks etc with a rifle.
  4. The dimmer is on the christmas list as well as some spare mags
  5. Yep its a sak mod and its whisper quiet. I use (after much advice) Winnie subs. one of the rabbits i shot was about 120yrds and got it right through the eye. The lamp is a Deben tracer max its like lighting up a football pitch. I ran out of money after buying all this kit , therefore i didnt get the adjustable dimmer switch. However i find that if i use the red filter it works a treat and its not as bright.
  6. Then add a partridge and youve got a great game pie.
  7. Well everybody here is the outcome of all your advice on cleaning, lamps, zeroing, judgeing distance etc. As you can see it works, thank you to one and all who gave me some sound advice. I have also now recently aquired more permission thanks to the game dealer who is happy with all the head shots. If youre new to the forum and you need good sound advice this is definately the place to get it. Cheers.
  8. Mines a great piece of kit and will certainly take some beating. Bunnies dont know what hit em.
  9. A mossberg 12g is great on clays i have seen some good shots on these, but, like people have said you gotta be quick and keep on target. Try getting a semi if you can a Berretaa a303 are good for clays and game. I have used both on a local clay range and favour the berreta . Reliable and reletavely easy to mantain as well as good barrels.Good luck.

  15. It was indeed a judgeing distance problem. the guy i went out with picked it up straight away. By the end of the night got 4 bunnies for 6 shots. 3 head shots 1 boiler room I really appreciate all your help and advice. many thanks :notworthy:
  16. Got one bunny last night Miseed about 20 Moved the scope mounting for the light more forward so there is now less light affecting my scope. Cleaned the barrel with 3x Patches on a pull until clean.Fired 10 rounds and its now a bit more stable. Going on the range again this afternoon to rechec zero at 50yrds as i think i moved my scope a bit when moving the mounts.(Might explain why i missed alot, including one at 30 yrds). Range instructor taking me out tonight to see where im going wrong . He agrees with you goes thats its all down to experience. Anyway i will let you now how i get on
