The trouble with bad weather stalking is keeping sights clear for the shot lens cover are good on my estate I have a bad weather hide under tall conifer plantation and I can usually get a shot as they stay under cover in the bad weather and it is nice still to be able to go out in all conditions and still stay dry.

Hi I have had a 204 for 2 years and like the othere chap agree the 40 grain bullet is best I have shot a lot of foxes with it and a lot more. It does have a problem in wind at which point I take my 243 with me. I find it deadly accurate and gives me great confidence when out with it. Plus a real fun gun for crows and long range rabbits no good if you want to eat the rabbit. Dont forget it was designed as a varment calibre and in most cases does not exit the fox so skins are in good nick when removed and cured. hope this helps you a bit. I have a 400d to and had similar problems with focus I solved it with my wifes advice which is to take your time on the button slower when pressing is better results . Centre your deer first press and hold before the final press and what you see through the screen is what you get so if it is not a sharp picture repress the button. If that does not solve your problem go manual focus the switch is on the lense then you cant go wrong. As for lighting try auto bracketing the camera takes 3 pictures at different light setting then you pick the best.

Hi David well done nice yearling, notice in your picture the little jack russel do you take him stalking I take mine works a treat never gets in front or makes a noise and yet I did not teach him this he just picked it up. Champion

Dear Sir,s + Ladies, I recently went to sit in one of my deer hides which has been newly constructed, it was 4 in the morning and I was late should have been in by 3.30 .Having sat for an hour I herd a buck start to bark then another and another I guess from the sound 4 in total I have often herd bucks bark when I have spooked one but not in this way is this common. At 6 a big buck walked out some 150 mtrs away and walked off in the wrong direction , I stalked him but made a mistake and spooked him and off he went barking his head off really enjoyed the stal

Answer like all the other replies is yes and well done but as a stalker you new that but wanted to here it from other people and so you should so once again well done and you have shown its not all about killing deer to the people who are learning about stalking you have a responsability to the animals you are looking after and I am sure you will get a chance at the big one again , and by the way 200+ yard shot good shot for an experienced stalker like yourself but to any beginners if posible try and keep to under 100 till you get experience under your belt.

The dsc1/2 at present are not compulsory to gain a fire arms cert but it depends on the police force you are with .If you are a coplete novice and in no clubs even with land you might be asked to take a course. My advice is to join basc or the bds who have legal teams who can help when applying I Have always found the police helpfull but sometimes you have to explain things to them example just this year I purchased a full bore sound moderator for my .204 the police contacted me because the person I baught it off had it on a .223 , I was told I did not have a liecence for a .223 moderator, I e

Hi fellow hunters , I am 51 years old and have been a landscaper all my life but I would like to try stalking ,I have stalked roe deer for over 30 year as a hobby and would like to do it full time. Do you think anyone would employ someone of my age.
