  1. What grn bullets are your calculations based on ? .308 Is it not 6.5 mm bullet that is used more than the 6mm ?
  2. Reloading Guides are just what they say GUIDES. They do not offer cast iron safety !! It is much better to start with the lowest powder in a Guide/manual of a proven powder for the cartidge. Make up 3-5 rounds in the low weight, then makes some more but increase by 1 grn each time up to the MAX weight. Next step off to the range to see what they group like ! But keep a look out for pressure increase. Remember reloading is rewarding BUT CAN BE DANGEROUS so be mindful of any strange sounding shots ! if in unsure stop shooting check bore/empty case.
  3. Don't rush !!!!!!!!! Sit, stay,Come and Heal are all you need for 9 months. Play with the socks by all means but don't rush or do to much dummy work. If you do to much to soon you will end up with a dog that is not steady and will run in thinking every retrieve is his. Until you can stop him when you want every time and he will sit and stay when you want him to then is the time to start using the dummy . Remember the dog should have a good 10 years of work so a few months wait will be worth it. Good luck and have FUN remember he's still only a pup.
  4. Deker you must check your posts your the one name calling !
  5. How much land ? How many Different Farms ? Is any of the land passed for firearms ? What do you want to shoot ? What guns do you want to apply for ? How that for a start then we can try to answer you question.
  6. VHD wipes them all out and it takes ages to get the numbers back. On one farm not to far from me we had a nice population taking off an average of 625 rabbits a year , Then along came VHD we are lucky to see 40 rabbits a week now and average 150 a year.
  7. Well deker seams we are all idiots apart from you ! Charlie T and Dicehorn save your breath Fact is not a thing he's used too, Anything to boost his posts count ! That well known they named the county after him !
  8. Try riflecraft or any of the smiths that do custom rifles. They might have one .
  9. I use 55 grn hornaday SPSX , not saying they are any better than anything else but that is what i buy.
  10. My choice 1st Sako 2nd Winchester mod 70 if you can get a new one [if not coyote lite/shadow] 3rd Remminton model 7 XCR [ lighter and shorter than 700] 4th tikka [ only in 4 because of long action and sloppy bolt] Both USA rifles Need a new trigger[jewel]to get the best out of them. All are very close to each other but i had to put some order. I would avoid any of the cheap or less known manufactures as resale values are low.
  11. Hi Gav Very nice of you to put them up . www.dprc1999.com has some on as well. P.S no 13 might want taking off Shooting racing pigeons is illegal . Cheers
  12. LOGIC/aka none Get with the programme! 204 Ruger has been a factory round for the last 4 years... So the .260 rem that you thought was a waste of time , and been in production for 11 years is NOT one of your unneeded wildcats ! but a mainstream round ? Oh and you spell program with one 'm'
  13. Wow ! only a month ago you had a real mardy at me saying that you thought there was no need for wildcat rounds [.204]as YOU had all that was needed .
  14. VERMIN are carriers of disease and the warm blooded furry type are RODENTS . If Fox is Not listed and for some strange reason you try to defend yourself by saying the FLO said it was ok see how fast the FLO loses hi/her memory !
  15. I have one on my 6.5x55 and am very impressed with it..also have a t8 on my 223..personally I prefere the ase over the t8..more compact and doesnt heat the barrel up when at the range as it doesnt slipp over the barrel I agree i have one on my .260 and a t8 on the .22-250 no problem with the t8 but if i bought another mod it would be ASE. Some times works lose though so you need to get in the habit of checking its screwed up tight !
  16. Just a quick one ! Don't try and rush . More dogs are ruined by doing to much to young . My present springer pup is 5 months and has not seen a dummy yet . Heal sit and stay are all she needs will start dummy work and starting pistol at 7-9 months. I'm looking for a dog to do 8 years work so why rush the first and most important year of her working life. Oh and forgot to add WHEN it plays up stay calm and remember it's a dog .
  17. Don't know it was a long time ago and the owner died about 7 years ago.
  18. Shot a few rounds with a 50 cal about 16 years ago . It was built using a boys anti tank gun by a maniac RFD i used to know. Not an experience i want to endure again. Expensive rounds and a very small market when you come to sell the rifle.
  19. Save your money. Buy your reloading kit keep the .22-250 !! If you are shooting Fox why do you need any more bullet weights than offered in .22 from 40 - grn ?
  20. Looks like your back is up ! These sites seam to attract the i shoot the back legs of a fly with my .243 at 500 yds brigade . Best thing its to put a block on reading his posts
