  1. My Check list :- 1st thing Very good rest !! Try different Ammo and bullet weight although 5" at 50 yds gets alarm bells ringing . Flinch ? Bi-pod pushing stock on to barrel ? Stock Tight ? Scope/mounts rings Tight ? Scope U/S ? Damaged crown ? Mod ? but if mod it will have damage for you to see ! Barrel Scrap !!!! All the best !!
  2. In Short you can not be 100% sure . The dam is your best you have to look at a small dam and a average pup from the litter should give you a small dog. A good working type should be on the small side anyway as large usually means show blood. Ask about on here for people with small springers for the lines and then take pot luck like the rest of use. My last springer was small in height but built like a staffy, my latest is 7 months and small and up to now athletic build but who knows what she will be at a year ! But i don't care as she's mine and great !!!!!!!! Forgot sire Badger
  3. One that Missed ! Only Joking Heavy and slow is the general rule . i guess by damage you mean cavitation ?
  4. Cage rest no walks or running for at least 10 days. I once had a ess with shoulder damage 1 month of cage rest drove us both mad. just outside for 1 & 2 .
  5. Don't bother ! To call them crap might get me some stick, but i dont think much to them. Cheep/chunky and gimmicky might be a better discription. There are lots of scopes better .
  6. You made the best choice of rifle and caliber.
  7. I and three mates spent a full day on trying to get one to group ! It would keep shooting a flyer but with no pattern as to when and why. It did not look a bad rifle and i can only base it on one example but i would not buy one due to my experience. P.S. Sportsman did not think we knew what we were doing but after they had the rifle back to zero for the owner, Refunded his cash !!
  8. My two are 8x56 one on 22-250 fox rifle one on my omega. I also have a Swarovski 8x50 on my woodland stalking rifle. The only real difference i can tell between the swaro and S&B is the finish, the swaro is like a merc and the s&b a bmw . Both very nice but one with a bit more class.
  9. Mr logic Your fail mention that for it to be lawful each RIFLE has to have a provision for a moderator . You still have not told everyone you were threw off bbs ! EG. giving out information likely to cause someone to lose their ticket . That time you said it was ok to shoot things not specified on FAC conditions. Seams like you are doing it again. So glad you keep the debate clear and concise and not get into childish name calling .
  10. Some times alarmingly different ! The shape of the round can also change the group. What sort of group were you getting with the 100 grn ?
  11. Mr LOGIC thought you would put you oar in ! Tell us all why did you get thrown off BBS ? Deker who mentioned center fire ? After you have finished beating your chest . learn to read P.S. I look forward to the smack in the face !!!!!!!!!
  12. If you are selling it for a WMR or 22 rf then you are breaking the law as you know! And site rules. And so is anyone fitting it to a rifle without the condition on their FAC . If you are selling it for a air rifle then that is ok . So Riohog should get an apology and be told the truth.
  13. 4A for hunting most shots less than 200m . Milldot on the range 200-500m. Remember KISS !
  14. If it don't hold zero take it back ! You can get away with a basic scope for 22 rf up to 100m. Where do you stop ? I'm with Effortless !
  15. Sporting rifle rated the .204 the best fox round followed by the .22/250 !! As you want to shoot Deer and fox the .204 is of no use to you . .223 is a very good round but struggles to keep up with the .22/250, my mate shoots .223 my other mate and me shoot .22/250 the .223 has more follow up shots than us two together . He also has less confidence in distance shots with the .223. Listen to jamie g !! All the talk of barrel burning and cost per round is not worth the worry . If the cost is a worry then perhaps CF shooting is not for you as it is expensive.
  16. Why are you worried how flat the fly ? As long as they hit what you aim and it falls down job done. You will get lots of you need .243/30.06 as they are better answers , but its down to what you like what rifles that fit what you want and if the chambering is offered in that rifle. Next is ammo and what you can get and where ? if you are going on the range then the cost of ammo comes in to it [ mil surplus] Another thing is the recoil ! have you shot a .308 of the same spec as the .270 ? only then can you feel the recoil difference. Less is better for NOT developing a flinch. Which ever
  17. Silver pigeon ! Good choice . Wet nights rough/lend gun ? sbs not sure it is ideal. a sbs feels and shoots very differently from an ou . And you will not shoot the sbs as well as you shoot the ou . There are are some good shots with sbs [ not classing myself as one but i use sbs] but the average shot shoots better with an ou. So you might end up using the ou on the wet nights !! I would but a cheap ou plenty about for less than £ 200. Tikka t3 ! very nice gun but due to costs only comes in long action so with .223 cal it seams a bit sloppy in the action. Sako do a short actio
  18. The stock is tough and is good . Not McMillan quality but then its not in the same price range. Mine is on my fox rifle so gets used every week and is still as good as new . It has no soft bits like the hogue ! Look on th B&C site you will see the stock for the winchester model 70 coyote lite and then compare that to the one you want, mine has a wide varmint/benchrest type forend and is very stiff.
  19. Dave where are you ? someone on here who lives local to you would help you !!
  20. Sam hall 2008 world 1000 yds 6mm br Glen Sterling 2007 " .30
  21. I have a bell & carlson on my coyote lite. It's a varmint style very stiff two studs one for sling and one for bipod.
