    Liam send it back ! You will get a new one . Smithy Why do you think it need cleaning ? I only spray mine with WD40 about once a year, and then very lightly . It is used every sat night rain or dry just leave out to air when i get in and put away in the morning

    Try shooting next to a .50 with a brake ! The blast presses your eye balls and makes your lungs move. And makes a .308 sound like an air rifle.

    My choice off your list would be . 1 Swarovski only because they are slightly better finished than S&B [ but i would go 8x50] 2 S&B / Zeiss 4 Meopta

    Ear protection and reduction in recoil full bore mods do both . It is true they do not add to a rifles looks but many old deerstalkers do not hear very well. Deer don't mind though if a rifle has a mod on or not though i have shot deer without a moderated rifle with less than 5 min between shots, while still in the high seat giving a shot beast waiting time.

    The forum Should be for advice for the unsure ! And hopefully stop them making a mistake that someone else has made. I saw the topic about the pup and was amazed the chap wanted to meet and fight the folk he asked advice from ! MAD . My advice is to weed out the answers from people who actually HAVE the thing you are asking about and read the past posts on what they are expert on ! you will sometimes be shocked at the little time some experts have been doing the subject they preach about.     What Stocks are you using please post ONLY if you have one or had one ! Accuracy international Good stiff stock,heavy and ideal for prone shooting. But the plastic is a bit soft and marks easily if the bolt is not withdrawn carefully. Bell & Carlson Good stiff stock ,Very hard metal sub-frame ,two front swivel points, could do with the internal finish to be slightly better. H & S Precision Very stiff, very light, Ali sub-frame , overall finish good , not had chance to fire the rifle with this yet so will report if better/worse than the remington plastic st

    A wise choice ! All that has been said about heavy rifles and stalking/foxing is true if you are walking, but if you are in a high seat or 4x4 the weight is then your friend .

    If they are your choice's i would go for the sako ! [ tikka only make long action] Mod can wait [ untill you can buy one, not needed but nice to have ] Scope you can start off cheap or S/H Add ons can come and go as you can get more cash, but start with the best rifle you can buy ! And you will not wish you had bought the other better rifle.

    I would do not think you would get .308 as a fox only caliber ! But deer and fox on large caliber is not a problem at all ! I have deer and fox on 7.62/.303/6.5 rifles with no problem at all.

    Zooms are good BUT most are set to max and never moved again . Fixed is my preference for a hunting rifle , i have a zoom on the .22rf but its at max zoom and has been for 20 years. I have a zoom on my range rifle though and it sometimes gets moved but not often.

Grudges are a two way thing, it is not me name calling or getting my mates to help him out of his own bragging. All i have asked is for him to back his claims with fact ! why is that a grudge ? He and you don't have to post a reply, Back up claims or don't post them simple !! P.S i have crossed swords with you and do not swear or abuse you !

    I've Never said you have not fired a full bore semi i asked if you had ? You stated you had but will not give any details and then get all nasty again. I am not interested in your life ! But when asked a few facts that are not personal you then swear and rant . Why ?
