  1. Of course its SAFE ! .243 is a larger round than a .22-250 !
  2. I will be the first to say told you so when you all moan about it . P.s if you don't think its true ask Jan Andrews next time you see her at a show !
  3. Nothing wrong with S/hand ! Had 3 .303 SMLE 90 years old great fun shot 2'' group 100m open sights .22-250 about 5 years old shot sub 1/2 '' 100m Now have .260 4 years old shoots sub 1/2 100m
  4. Hi All ! How many of you know a ban on lead in rifle bullets is on the cards ? I was told with in 20 years . If you think shooting is expensive now wait till this comes into force ! Just price up bismuth or heavy shot ,shotgun cartridges to give you an idea. About £1-1.30 a bang in the shotgun. NOW is the time to push BASC/and all the others to stop this in it's tracks !
  5. 1 canada for me this morning ! Got up at four out and back to work at eight back from work at five and i'm now a bit sleepy !
  6. One had a springer that would fight ! one day say a lady with two jrt's, i picked up my springer and the two little darlings started jumping up and pulling lumps of my bitch ! I took off her lead and put her down on the floor . It then became world of screams and claret , But apart from my bitch the others did not walk off the battle field one did its best to play dead the other backed under a bush ! I then had words with the lady owner and gave her my address if she wanted to take it further due to her dogs being off their leads and attacking my dog that was on a lead. i never heard a w
  7. For the animals benefit ? No For the shooters benefit ? Yes
  8. Mr Logic you state you only take a shot when you are certain you are going to kill the animal then why do you need a semi in case you need to finish the animal off . A second shot at a fleeing animal would be a lot harder than the shot you have just cocked up ?
  9. I'm in the same boat but have a sako hunter Brill rifle ! i also use win subs.
  10. Mr Logic remember not every one is in a position to reload as you know yourself so the post of £ 35 a box is correct .
  11. Good to see your years of experience and helpful attitude to members showing through....if he uses this in Scotland he will get arrested and lose his FAC!!! I'm sure he appreciates you are only trying to help him! Deker i think that was a swipe at your mate Mr logic , but quoted off another thread.
  12. I have taken Snap Shots advice and looked up the 100grn .243 and the 120grn .260 as there is not a 100grn .260 to do a full side by side. .243 is faster up to 100m but then loses out 70 mps faster at the muzzel but 200 mps less at 500m .260 has 300 f/lb more at the muzzel and 400f/b more at 500m Also according to the chart the .260 shoots flatter than the .243 So is that is the printed evidence that the .260 rem is superior to the .243 ???
  13. Its about time i joined in ! If you want a good round for all types of deer and you already reload then it has to be .260 rem ! If you want a very good off the shelf round then my next choice would be 6.5x55 Then .308 And as for .243 why ? it kill's deer without question but its a varmint round that smashes meat ! And you have one of those with your .22-250
  14. It's Good to see there are fine upstanding people still about ! SOOOOOOOO glad piper is home. Limey i hope you have not lost much cash and i'm sure you will get a reward of some sort for your honesty !
  15. Decker For me it is no lamp man no shooting ! I was told only point a rifle at something you intend to kill. So the idea of swinging a loaded rifle with a lamp on top looking for a target fills me with dread. But we are all different and each to their own.
  16. He won't unless you use expanding or save your receipts .
  17. There are no hard and fast rules. You will notice splits and stress marks near the case mouth when the case is US. But look carefully and discard any cases you don't like the look off.
  18. Feel for you ! If some one nicked my BT i can't post what i would do. All the best and good luck !!
  19. The fluted barrel would not look good for resale if you chopped it ! Lead in the stock is ok but i would rather have it lighter and cope with it barrel down. IMO the coyote lite is a very good package bar the heavy trigger pull.
  20. Yes Mr L i carry it on two farms that i walk and in the truck for the rest, Mine has a T8 and means the balance when carrying is at the mod so have to walk mussel down , but is light rifle and not a pain.
  21. Better finish than the rem and IMO better all round than the T3 lite ! [bolt/stock/barrel] They were more expensive than the t3 when i bought mine but worth it as it was only £40 ish. Need's the jewel trigger to be at it's best !
  22. I have had two Cockers first one was a black and white bitch great dog worked like mad ! But if you scolded her to much she came out fighting !! F*** me did that dog have a temper ! Second one was her daughter and was soft as grease. Don't think cause the cocker looks soft and cuddly that they are not up to much you might get a suprise .My dad still has 4 white canine scars on his forearm where the black and white cocker nailed him.
  23. Learn to live with the meat damage. Although alot of people use the .243 for all deer and are very happy with its performance it was designed as a vermin round and therefore is very fast and accurate. I would only take a head shot as last resort on a shot or crippled beast.
  24. Sorry did no realize you wanted to buy some.
