  3. Well put it this way, how much work and expence go's into a Vet's practice ? Then compaire it to a Plumber, or a locksmith ! Vets are Cheaper. Glad your Dog is OK
  4. At the very least they are guilty of theft for not returning the dogs body. See 1968 Theft Act
  5. You have not looked very hard ! Two 6x42 swarovski's where on E-*ay last week, I bought one for £250+ p&p arrived today and put on my .22rf tonight. The other went for £255 ! Try looking how bright a 6x42 Swaro is compaied to the Nikon then see if they are good for the price ? Used to have a pair of Nikon bino's they where light weight, but poor focus, very poor colour definition and would rate a 3/10 There a Swarovski 6x42 on the S*alking D*rectory £220 _p&P
  6. A S&B 6x42 has just gone of the bay for £220 and a Swarovski 6x42 for £250 Both are light years better than the Hawk and AGS scopes mentioned !
  7. NEVER trust a test report ! Think about it magazine's survive on advertising, a negative report for a product equals that company stops advertising in said magazine . A friend of mine had a Titan 6 and it was not a rifle it was a tube that had a breach on it ! would not group with two different scopes and loads of ammo types. The importer eventually game him his money back , and he bought a Tikka.
  8. Matt No offence but would you trust a stranger to take your other half out for a Drink ? I have taken people out Pigeon shooting only to find them sat in the same field the week after and they had told the land owner I said it was Ok Best bet is to knock on Doors or wait until you have been beating a season and work your way up. 9. Well the question about using a Gun with badly pitted barrels shows what experience you have with Guns and how you look after them Perhaps its because you spend all your time with your impeccably trained dogs
  10. Can you please point out where I mentioned running in ? A Springer has been bred as a GUN dog not for falconry ( yes I know they can be trained to hawks, But if you have spent much time with springer's you should know what bu**ers they can be ) In hawking/falconry a retrieve should NEVER be asked for so what I was asking is why include it in the dogs training ? P.S Read your Question about Pitted barrels.
  11. One question jumps straight out at me ! Why are you teaching a dog for hawks to retrieve ? Surely you are asking for either a dead hawk or a Badly footed Dog ? You need a dog that works to the whistle stop, left, right and back. STOP the dummy work she is a flushing machine and once flushed she should know her job is done.
  12. So Beast what are you going to do ? Sort it or regret you had chance to stop an accident from happening to someone else ?
  13. I'd love to get into 300-600 yard range shooting, but there just doesn't seem to be any clubs around my way, (Stratford on Avon, Warks) Or not that i can find anyhow! He does a shed load of videos on really indepth stuff. Tutorials on all sorts. I'll have a look at calling wind me thinks....... Try Catton park shoot !
  14. Yes I used to have a SMLE that was new in 1917. Don't know who had it before me, or where it had been before ( suspect it had been abroad a time or two) but shot well and has since gone to a new owner.
