  1. Is he not backed by CHUDLEYS ? See shooting times pocket guide to gundogs.
  2. my 2 get bakers complete they love it and does them well look good and work well who care what it cost me you like to eat well dont you Thats why i asked ! Bakers complete is only £23 for 15 kg. Is it cereal based ? or animal derivatives ? From what i have read ' Purina ' is not a good brand.
  3. What do you feed your Dog and why ? I feed mine on Pro Plan and like the food as they have plenty of energy and i don't get excessive amounts of crap ! But At £ 48 for 15 KG it is getting too expensive !!!
  4. I have one ! Innotec ultrasmart . My dog has a large amount of FTCH in her pedigree and is Very HOT . This collar has been a gift from GOD ! Gone are the days of frustration and shouting at a dog that is not listening , After a week of using the collar with command/buzzer/shock [ yes i did try it on my self with full power ! the anticipation is worse than the static shock] I then went on to command/buzzer the result was fantastic. I now have a dog that responds to the whistle and command and not a dog that is constantly shouted at whistled and beaten like a large amount on shoot day
  5. You really do talk rubbish sometimes, are you trying to kill the guy! There is little or no .223 Mil surplus, it is 5.56 which will fit but is over pressure for .223, unless of course you can find some original shit 5.56 mil spec. But you are unlikely to know so don't **** about and don't use it!! Best zip it when you don't know what you are talking about! WOW ! You have put it down ! :wankerzo4: Can all the folk who have used .762 and 5.56 please raise what is left of their right hand !! I have shot 7.62 in a .308 and 5.56 in a .223 and NEVER had a blow up or seen a
  6. For a .223 reloading might not be the cheaper option ! Reloading is more to tune ammo to your rifle than cheap. If you want cheap then mil surplus might be the cheapest option followed by brands like ppu and american eagle.
  7. It's very good i can not say it is better than the new lyman as i have not used one, But the rcbs has no warm up time , can store load data is fast and can be set to auto. Don't know where they thought up the price though ! Made in china for about £20 max . I can now load at least 4 times faster so can do about 100 rounds in the time it used to take to load 20.
  8. Your hand ? Thought that was being used :wankerzo4:
  9. Logic , If you want the least chance of fluctuation then electronic scales are the way forward. Lyman or rcbs . I packed up using beam scales about 4 years ago as there are to many chances of not quite getting every load perfectly the same. I now use a Chargemaster.
  10. What scales are you using at the moment ? What about weighing your powder into small containers like muzzle loaders do in a less cramped part of the house.
  11. Try GARLANDS 100 mt range. don't know about all day though.
  12. All stainless steel rifles are prone to RUST !!! The 'normal' ie. non rusting stainless steel is NOT used in rifles ! Although branded as all weather rifles they still need care and attention . Clean hands / light oil when put away and stored where there is little heat fluctuation . Tikka's can rust in hours if the barrel is touched by sweaty hands. Chap..Chill out, I made a brief response which was to the point and accurate. Stainless barrels are less prone to surface oxidation than most other metals used for barrels/actions. They handle temperature and general
  13. One of the advantages of stainless is its durability in the damp etc, something doesn't seem right, I have 2 stainless and no "rust" issues at all. 14. Most likely causes :- Operator error Scale error [ cheap scale are ok but you can't rely on them to be accurate if they don't stand on a good surface, even then are not ideal for consistent hot loads] Hard extraction [ usually operator error, incorrectly sized case or over loaded. What was the case like on the way in ?]
  15. I'll have a go tomorrow only have a pic of the smaller one on my phone , just in from work and battery is dead. I have some muntjack picks including the last three i shot but the pic is very dark. i use .260 mostly but if i need a shot over open fields with no cover i use the .308.
  16. It takes two for it to carry on ! Where in the country did you shoot the buck ? I shot two bucks last sunday 90lb and 82lb, the largest had only 3" spikes the other about 1" [Northampton] . The first was 170m low heart shot ! Beast jumped, took one stride 180 deg turn and ran 30 m when found bullet had destroyed the lower heart and exited through the left elbow NO blood trail found by dog. Second was shot on report of the first 100m beast jumped as before ran 8 m stood and bled out before falling again lower heart destroyed . Got to the ground at 6.00am both down by 7.00
  17. A mate of mine has 10x30 swar and i have 7x 42's slc if i was to buy again the size and very little optical difference would make it a hard choice. But if i was offered the swap for something that i did not use it would be an easy choice . Is it possible to try them first ?
  18. Look at your past posts on other topics Mr Logic , you will find it is mostly you that gets abusive . Why ? You always trot out that YOU have the right to disagree, and you have but if you can't answer without getting nasty perhaps it would be better not to reply ?
  19. A .260 rem has a better trajectory than a .243 !! And better bullet choice ! P.S Do you also recommend .243 for 300m sika stags ??
  20. I have a .308 and it puts lovely big holes in deer ! They are always heart/lung shots as that is the shot with no meat damage at all. BUT the rifle that go's out most is my .260 as it is half the weight of my .308 makes a slightly smaller hole but with the same result. Only downside is unless you reload it is not an option so go for the .308. P.s. I have to side with Vimto
  21. My advice for a new reloader is to Stick to the manuals until you have some time under your belt. The manual is for YOUR safety ! Why not buy N165 then you can use that for 139 grn hpbt norma up to and including the 156 mega ?
  22. I prefer the .260 rem ! But he never asked for other than 25.06 .270 or .308
  23. 25.06 long case very good round/ nice to shoot 270 Very good hard hitting round/ Excellent for developing your flinch LOL ! Lots of cheep rifles about in this calibre .308 short case will do every every thing the other two will /nice to shoot /loads of ammo choice/ lots of rifles in this calibre/CAN not be used in some euro countries due it being a military calibre. My choice of the three would .308 or 25.06 not that any of these two are better than the other just the fact that the .308 is a short chamber and has more factory loaded ammo off the shelf.
