    There is a huge difference between steiner and swarovski ! Its like looking at a ford v merc they both get you from a-b but one gets you there in ore comfort and style. Also resale of swaro's are very near new value and back up from the manufactures are out this world.

    6.5 x 08 is the way to go if you reload ! Feels like a .243 to shoot but where SOME .243 struggle with 100gr bullets the 6.5 shoots .95 grn upto 155 gr bullets. although my experience is 100gr and 129gr both put fallow and muntjack on the grass with little meat damage. Short case and therefore less powder lots of 6.5 bullets to chose from , and you can use .243 cases neck up if you want. But i buy new cases. Supposed to shoot the same tradjectory as 300 win mag with less recoil but i have not used a win mag so can't say if it is true

    Best advice is to allow plenty of time for each stage of reloading, do NOT Rush or cut corners. IF in any doubt that you have not done anything correctly STOP. And do that stage again. Seams like a ball ache but it becomes automatic. And don't reload if you are tired, unwell or distracted.

    I'd get the .22-250 ! .223 is good and a mate uses one but i use the .22-250 as not much runs after a strike.

    My Chasseur with leather linings where £ 500 and my .22rf kills red stags at 1400 yds I priced them up before Christmas and the cheapest i could find were £ 220, my old ones both split at the heal , but were replace Foc. I would have thought good boots like Mendel would be better for your feet than wellies ?

    I looked at them very nice to ! But resale value is nothing . I can sell my S&B precision hunter for more than i paid for it 5 years ago ! Not that i would. Take a look at York guns used optics.

    Ross is on the button ! Not much to chose from between S&B and swarovski apart from swaro are slightly better finished. Good luck !

    Not if the stock is the same as the jelly stock on my mod 7. It would group of a sand bag , climb off a bipod not group if i used the sling or throw random groups of hard rests. One H&S precision stock later i now have a rifle that groups 9mm at 100m off everything.

    Ammo change will NOT turn a bad rifle in to a supper accurate rifle !! It will improve a with grouping but it won't turn a pigs ear int a silk purse . A good trigger and a good stock will do alot more than different ammo inc reloading [ i have rolled my own for over 10 years ] Buy the best trigger you can afford i would only buy jewel or jacksons CG Stocks well its up to you but my choice would be h&s precision or Bell & Carlson with ali internals

    DUCK ! Average budget = STEEL that means he can't get fibre wads . Agree with fibre for the other reasons though !
