    Matt that's not a Hissy ! I have seen plenty of fox's shot with large shot that have not been killed out right ! There are stalkers on here that would give there right arm to help, so it seams harsh not to give all quarry a quick and as painless death as possible. As you proberbly know getting within 25 m of deer is very hard [ but not impossible] so what happens then do you try a long shot with the shotgun ? and risk wounding. I know how frustrating it is to get crop and tree damage due to animals and birds but even vermin should be killed as quickly and humainly as possible. It is

    Not to much of a loss ! You would have had to head shoot rabbits with a .17 if you wanted to eat them, And you can do that with a 22-250 ! Cost a bit more but if you take in to account the cost of a .17 rifle Mounts mod and scope you would have spent a few quid anyway .

    PUT THE DUMMY'S AWAY !! Sit stop heal and recall are all you need for 12 months ! And only when the dog is rock steady on all of them start reteving dummy's. A dog that retrives to early and to much will run in to shot and range to far ahead . Early entry of gundogs is the path to a free hunting pain in the arse. Rabbit pens are a double edged sword they introduce dogs to a distraction, Wher the handler should be able to control the dog.     A mate of mine has just had a ref refused ! the ref has known him for 14 years has his own buisness . And has a FAC/SGC It was turned do the buisness being less than ten years old/ less than 25 employies. Would have been ok if ref had a degree !

    Just look up 7.62 x 51 on wikipedea and in the first pargraph it says that there are differences between .308 and 7.62 x 51 but SAAMI say they are INTERCHANGEABLE !! SORRY to prove HIM :wankerzo4: wrong but there it is !!

    Ok Decker first of all explain why if the .308 and 7.62 is not the samething YOU can buy ammo for a rifle you have not got ? Fact ! Britain comes under CIP ruleing that is a firearms SAFTEY organisation .     I like reading Decker's posts as knows all about all the firearms and laws on the planet ! or thinks he do's. Please enlighten me as to why one of the worlds leaders of military sniper rifles has its .308/7.62 proofed as 7.67 x 51 but in the user manual they are called .308 ? Perhaps it was a printing error that got missed ? or pehaps you are wrong again. TRY contacting sporting services or Accuracy international if you don't beleve me. I'm not in to operator error as due to checking my firearms before use i have Never barrel burst ! have you ? Mind you i have never sold

    If your dealer wants to break the law and you want to put .308 down a 7.62 do I care! Fortunately I had the brains to request .308/7.62x51, that's the ONLY legal way you can buy both! Exactly the same applies with .223/5.56. You know fully well if it doesn't say you can do it on your FAC then you can't....... We also both know it happens sometimes, and hopefully the police will turn a blind eye if they ever check, but that doesn't make it legal!     Wrong..if it ONLY says .223 on your FAC it is ILLEGAL to sell 5.56. And if they were available, why are they not now, and why does that make them the same in UK law??? I'm afraid it is you that is wrong Decker MY fac says Accuracy International 7.62 x 51 . It also states that for the ammo and guess what when i do buy factory ammo i have no problem buying .308 ammo 5.56 is still avalable but since the two wars on the go not in the quantity it was.

    Hi Jonathan I said a simular thing last year and agree with you ! But there are doom and gloom merchants on here. Like you say where are all the blowups ? If there was a problem why would RFD's sell them to .223 owners they would be breaking so mamy laws both criminal and trade discription . Fact is they are [were] available and legal to sell to .223 owners so in UK law are one and the same .

    When i first started paper punching i was shown a way of disposal ! Pull off the bullet empty the powder down the sink put the case on a small screwdriver aimed down range ! Fag ighter flame under the case !! Whoosh Off it go's down range.
