put toilet roll over the trap before covering it with soil it will stop the soil going under the plate plus i dont find the mk4 a problem 4 rabbits seems to do the job 4 me if anything the mk6 is overkill

try waxing the mechanism of the trap keeps it moving and not stick we normaly do it with snares too
