Another method is too get a friend to pop ur ferret into the local vets and say they found it up the orad in the park or something, then you go and collect it the next day fed, bathed and nails clipped \o/

Funny that this post has come up! Steve & I were out last weekend & had a similar incident on a neighbouring farm.................Steve's hob Magoo came out of a bury with a cut to his neck & almost collapsed a few feet from the bury! My hob Pounce went down & immediately came back up, but my wee jill Chuckles shot down & wasn't seen for about half an hour...................we ended up digging for her & she came back up with her neck well-ragged & her back end soaking wet. We reckon there was a hob in there, so we've had a live-capture trap (baited with a dead

I found the little bugger this morning after phoning every vet in the area, he was picked up about 5miles away from where i live which is quite strange as i live in a really built up area. Got to the vets and was told he was going mad in the cage as soon as i spoke, but as an extra bonus he had been bathed and had a manicure so saves me job. Also as a bonus is that they had another Hob fert there that has been beat up a bit when it was living wild and they asked if i would home it as it will be put to sleep in a couple of days. I have found a home for him with my hunting buddies, so today

Well gonna go for another walk as if i'm correct ferts become more active at night and squeeking will carry further at night i hope. If he was around he would have come back on first hearing the squeek/squeeling noise.

Excessive urine bathing maybe? As its breeding season I know mine lost a little fur through urine bathing alot and his fur looked like it had been gelled after and he was constantly rubbing his neck and belly around the cage.

that worked for me left the cage open over night woke up in the moring and she was curled up sleeping. hope you get your ferret back Raider boy So do I mate he bolted over 500 rabbits last season and it was his first season took to the hunt better than any ferret I have had the pleasure in seeing. Thats the reason I am so gutted and also the fact that he was also a family pet aswell.

Another good method of keeping the nails down in the summer is to place a ceramic inside the ferts cage and place it in a place it always walks. For example i place mine just outside its nesting box as it has to sleep and will have to walk across it many times a day and this will help to keep his nails down a bit.

Hi all, I recently upgraded my ferts enclosure and placed it on a concrete base. I checked it daily to see if he had found anyway of breaking free and nothing, I checked him this morning at about 10am by squeeking and he as he normally does he popped his little head out and then went back to sleep. I went out for the day and returned at about 4pm and again squeeked him to let him know that i was getting food, but didn't wait for him to apear and went to get his food. When i got to his enclosure i realised the little bugger had dislodged a brick under his cage and escaped. I am really

One of the old fellars i go ferting with has a big hob called fred, i think retriever is more fitting as this ferret kills big bunnies and fetches them out to us all day long. I will deffinatly be having a hob from him this year :0p

I am willing to swap it for ferreting gear. again pm me for details.

Would have done if i had reciept still, but to be honest i really can't be fussed going there and arguing with them. Plus i've had it for too long long now not sure they would except it.

Is it 2 electronic collars and 2 boxes he wants to swap? I would be interested in buying them if he works out how much he wants. Pm me

It cost me £99 a few months before crimbo and it was no good for i wanted. (was sold it as a ferret finder from maplins). I guess i'm looking for no less than £50 for the unit and 4 tags.

I watched the Rabbit one and thought it did our cause good justice on a whole. The ugandan lady was 100% on the money with what she said it was food and we need food to live. More of these programmes would be great publicity for hunters and also to intice some of the younder generations into hunting. I myself started hunting with guns and ferrets when i was about 8 or 9 but moved to a town and pretty much forgot about it. Then now in my late twenties i finally found a group of ppl that share the hunting interest as i did when i was a wee one. It is absolutly great that i can finally
