  1. Harsh! There must be a childhood trauma in there somewhere...
  2. And that's unfortunate because the anomaly will evaporate and chaos will resume. We like to break things as much as build things and that's inherently human. If we don't fix it we get what's coming. Simple as that.
  3. If you look at us all having a common ancestor and project it forward that means that in several thousand years we'll be common ancestors to whatever is left of homo-sapiens if we haven't killed ourselves off. It doesn't get more preserved than that. In all honesty I'd rather see the current peacetime anomaly play out a lot longer than it has. That requires everyone to have a nice cup of tea and chat about how to fix sh*t which is where we come in. What do you say THL?
  4. Oh I know, mate. Like you I watched that travesty unfold in the real time. But what can you do? They were given liberty and they flushed it down the sh*tt*r. That's entirely on them and I won't shed a single tear. If you look at the politics behind that and the politics that is squeezing the globe that, my friend, is the world's default setting and our peacetime is the anomaly that can end at any time. How does it go? Winter is coming...
  5. I don't think it is an accident I simply believe that random mutation exists in society as much as it does in the human body. The agricultural revolution arguably changed the direction of the species for the better and Europe is more agriculturally friendly than sub-saharan Africa is. So what? We all roll the dice by getting up in the morning! If you look at the world as a whole and the people in it we're essentially higher primates with technology. Look at the carnage across the globe that has raged since time began. That is the world's default setting and what peace we have in western E
  6. They say everything is bigger in America. You think worms? Think Dune!
  7. That's Francie's domain I'm afraid... and I'm sure we'll be schooled on it in due course.
  8. That's one of mine and it'll cost a good chunk from here and I'm a lot closer than you! Looking forward to it!
  9. If you draw your family tree you have two parents. Four grandparents. Eight great-grandparents. Sixteen great-great-grandparents, and so on. If you keep doing that for about 40 generations you end up with a number around a trillion which is more than two thousand times the amount of people that have ever existed on earth at that time. Gentlemen, that is a paradox and we can only null it by understanding that our ancestors are not independent of each other. If it were possible to accurately trace their ancestry back, and their ancestors, and so on we'd loop back to a common ancestor and wh
  10. It's still better than a McDonalds!
  11. You do have a decent imagination. A semi-automatic firearm, or self-loading firearm, is one that not only fires a bullet each time the trigger is pulled, but also performs all steps necessary to prepare it to discharge again—assuming cartridges remain in the firearm's feed device. Unusual on THL, I know... I'll take your word for that...
  12. Security guard is all you're getting. It's true and it is vague. We're armed security which is very common in the US. We were driving from A to B when we saw the guy knocked off his bike and the woman didn't stop. Followed her for half a dozen blocks and then blocked her in at the lights until Metro showed up. She was still yapping on the phone. What would you do? I'm not in the police. I'm not in the military. I'm Mancunian. 1. That works although we prefer the term rape alarms and freedom sticks.
  13. I am. They do. Especially when the poor b*****d got knocked off his bike. I'm not. 1. Do you not like my rape alarm?
  14. Same. I'm still mopping up the coffee...
  15. It would take a minute to download, even in .pdf
  16. If I explained it you wouldn't believe it. So what's the point?
  17. I should add that the Golden State Killer has a suspect about to go on trial with the evidence supplied. He's looking at the death penalty. A decade ago privacy was a gold standard. Now with everyone wanting to post everything for likes no one needs a warrant. Pictures, posts, video, and now DNA. I'm surprised they don't just take a blood sample at birth and add it to the registry... I mean if you've done nothing wrong what harm can it do?
  18. Yep. That's how they caught the Golden State Killer. He was linked to 13 murders. 50+ rapes and 100+ burglaries. They used the DNA from the crime scenes and matched it with a website that linked him with 10-20 distant relatives. It's raised serious constitutional debate about secondary use of this supplied information. To think that it wouldn't be used in Britain, which has no constitutional protection, sounds kinda delusional!
  19. Every tradesman carries tools for his/her job. They're extremely effective against rapists. Even the British Army has switched to that brand of rape alarm I believe...
  20. That version doesn't have the corkscrew which is why I carry the rape alarm. They're pretty good those ones. 18 uses before a recharge.
  21. I carry one of those in with my lunch...
  22. Understood mate but I've spoken to a few a Thai ladies working in Las Vegas and they have an inherent distrust of any white bloke in his 40's for reasons discussed in this thread so much so that it's harmed their job opportunities in certain places in the US because they're always on the defensive. The way they talk about it you think it was Rotherham in reverse...
  23. Agree but it says a lot about society where it isn't taught or encouraged when the results are exactly same, as earlier that Pope has had to go on record and say that reporting these abuse cases is mandatory. He's actually had to say that out loud so f*ck*d is that organisations attitude to abuse... We can agree to disagree but this is a problem that transcends all the normal cultural divides and happens in every single example without exception. The reason they flock to the far-east is because it's easier to get away with and it's easier to bribe an official if you get caught. Do
  24. If you go back 600 years every single contributor/reader of this thread has a common ancestor. FACT.
  25. One of my brother's girlfriend's kids was stabbed multiple times trying to break up a fight between his mate and another kid at school. All under 16. Plod reckon it's gang related but no one is talking to them to refute it. It was bad enough that it made the Manchester Evening News and that's no easy feat for yet another stabbing. Kid had a promising football career but after a stint in intensive care and a couple of surgeries he won't leave the house and even though he doesn't need a bag to piss into anymore he's clearly suffering from PTSD but won't seek any help. I've been called all s
