My Mrs used to be the same. Maybe not anti but certainly didn't want them around the kids. Call it peer pressure or whatever but living in the middle of nowhere where everyone is packing one it's now as common as carrying keys or a phone. We watched some of the recent clownery on TV and one of the potential candidates started talking about nationwide confiscations. Let's just say she took it really personally and I just sat there with a big sh*t eating grin on my face!

I can only speak for where I'm at but there isn't any of that being taught in schools, but then there isn't much being taught at schools at all and herein lies part of the problem. It's not one group trying to f*ck over another group, it's them and us. If you take the minorities away from both sides and boil it down to the core normal people are sick of them taking our money and spending it on themselves and giving it away while we struggle.

Glock actually! She wanted something a little more concealable!

Always, but we wait until the shopping storm passes and have a day of it in the New Year. We've always used December to focus on the kids but now they're older it's a less elaborate affair.

Wholesome!! I needed to read that.

It's certainly been quite the process as it tries! 2020 is going to be an entertaining year by all accounts. The only thing I'm missing is for UK Gold to start streaming repeats of The Sweeney over here. I'm all set then!

Facts always were a pretty good cure for socialism!

I can't really disagree with any of that except the bit about Hillary. Everyone stopped caring about her when she couldn't get the result. It's not right or wrong it's win or lose. I still wouldn't bet against Don and he's still sh*t. The whole political show since 2016 has been absolutely bonkers and I certainly wouldn't speculate on much these days. Brexit has been a pleasant distraction for the yanks. Given them chance to take their minds of the shower of shite we call elected leaders. I just still can't believe we're living a world where Boris Johnson and DJT are legit wo

Yeah I could see that with a lot of the moderate voters but I know a lot of these strongholds voted for Brexit also and I wonder whether the next time around the Tories will hold these seats or whether they'll flip back. Time will tell I suppose.
-
Corbyn question. Was the election slapping received by the Labour party a rejection of them and their leader, or was it essentially another Brexit referendum? I honestly wonder whether these strongholds would vote Tory for anything other than Brexit.

Same. The kids phones are bonging with weather updates most nights with warnings not to go outside without protective clothing due to the risk of hypothermia. My youngest son's comedy weather app has the best advice 'It's Colder Than A Penguin's Taint' followed by the temperature in Farenheit and Celcius. Best description I've heard of it to date.

That's correct to my understanding also. Senate won't vote with it so it won't stand and probably won't affect his election campaign as it'll just entrench is supporters/detractors even further. Moderate America is getting annoyed with this constant bickering and why we're paying them trillions (with a 'T') of dollars to f*ck around and not get anything done. Considering they all hate each other we want to know why they're quietly approving themselves more funding, more wages, and extending warrantless surveillance of Americans by unanimously voting to renew parts of the Patriot Act that

We've had couple of nights dipping down to -20°C but it's not been above freezing for a couple of days and even then it's only 1 or 2 +. Nights are around the same as yours which is surprising as you're much further north. Have you had much snow yet? We had a couple of feet but the next round of rain, which we desperately need, has washed most of it away. We're expecting another foot or so Monday night with a few inches and flurries into the New Year. Merry Christmas, mate!

Excellent article! Well worth the read!

Agreed. If that was the be all and end all of it! Shouldn't that be ho ho ho? ?

It should be renamed Commercialmas. With people fighting over trinkets. People going into debt for crap. People dying on the roads and the suicide rate spiking what else is there to interpret? Humbug?

Yes. Impeachment removes him from office it doesn't bar him from running again. Only a majority senate vote could place restrictions on any future participation in elections. Presidents don't control the economy. They're simply the poster boy. The rebound from the 2008 crash is still blowing up the bubble. He's no more responsible for the boom than Bush was for the bust, or Obama was for the record recovery under his watch. Something that's constantly ignored here on THL. It's simply happening on Trump's watch although it can and does sway elections when Americans have more money in th

Sober Christmas and New Year for me but mainly because I'll be working the majority of it. Looking at 31st I won't finish until the early hours anyway. Not really bothered about it, TBH, as every New Year has been an anti-climax since 1999 and even that one was colossal waste of money. Like most I did the British high street culture. When the kids came along finances forced me to take it a lot easier and even though I drink more than your average Russian I'd much rather sit out around the campfire with a couple of feet of snow on the ground drinking good whiskey and smoking excellent ciga
