  1. Tom. With your considerable experience in the political campaign would it be feasible to start a group that focuses on the average hunter whilst campaigning for the future of all field sports? Or do the big groups have it all sewn up?
  2. Spoke to a Constable, from the Met, on September 15th when we were all down at Parliament Square. He asked one of the demonstrators to explain terrier work. The demonstrator patiently explained that it was the practice of entering a terrier to a fox earth... Before he could continue the Constable said "What's An Earth?" Now I don't believe for the minute that the police are stupid but some of them are extremely ignorant.
  3. Takes balls to stand up for your principles Tom. Some of us appreciate the commitment, of people like yourself, to the cause. If you decide to pursue a different path, keep us posted

    Welcome aboard Hogman
  8. I watch Gypsy run and my pulse races. I feel my fists clench as every bone in my body wills the dog to catch. The hare twists and turns and while I know the dog is outclassed I can't help but urge her on. Hare hits the fence and Gypsy pulls up panting... maybe next time? How about the feeling of entering the ferret to the warren? Have I netted them all? Did I get all the holes near the brambles? I'm crouched down holding the spade wishing the world would stop so I can hear what's going on. Then silence. Check the watch, look at the spade, check the watch... should I... BANG rabbit hits the

    Welcome aboard!
  10. Sounds about right Baldie. It was around the 300 mark tops. That spring took some getting used to especially as the rifle was that long it was difficult to keep off the deck. S16 is something I could never get on with. Not a fan at all.
  11. Last one I'd seen was going for nearly £700. It's a f****n awesome rifle... almost too much fun! Nearly lost me job over it as I couldn't get out of bed from going out shooting it all night. Cost me a fortune to fill it
  12. All the best everyone! Let's take it to them in 2005. Show them we're not to be f****d with.
  13. In Birmingham Happy Winterval!
  14. Merry Christmas everyone! All the best
  15. Here's the deal. We're looking at a delay. A delay that Tony and his mates want because they think it will stop us turning up at political rallies in the build up to the election. These slimy fuckers are already trying to wriggle out of a confrontation. We have not been granted a reprieve! Nobody should be thinking of stepping off the gas. We're no where near out of the woods and we still need to fight these b*****ds tooth and nail.
  16. Check your local dive shop/refilling station to see whether they will fill a bottle to 300bar. Some do some don't and it could end up being a real ballache travelling to one that can. 232bar will be alright on an S410. If you buy new you'll get all the bells, whistles and adaptors to fill the rifle plus the bottle will have a 5year test on it providing it's not going to double as a scuba tank. At least you know it's not been mistreated. You're looking at around the £130 mark for a 232 and about £150 for a 300 for a 3litre which you might get half a dozen to a dozen fills out of. New of c
  17. Are you looking for new or 2nd hand? And what rifle are you going to fill?
  18. Blackpool Air Rifles. About £90 at the time.
  19. Rifle is Webley Stingray in .22 Scope is Hawke Nite Eye 3-9 x 50 Mounts are Pro Mount Pro 8's (2 piece, double screw) Mil Dot's are set up for 10 mag to make them accurate. That's why all the military scopes are fixed 10's. I rate Hawke scopes for air guns. I've had more stuff with a fixed 4x32 than any other combination! Adjusters are fine. Nice and tight. The gun will hold zero providing it doesn't take a knock. I've managed to keep it adequate by transporting it extra carefully But all it takes is the slightest of knocks and it needs readjusting. I know if I go the guara
  20. If memory serves Tasco went bump and Hawke bought the brand? I've got the 3-9 on my rifle too but I'm having problems with it losing zero... any tips Baldie? If you want a decent Hawke scope the Airmax 4-12 is probably the best scope for under a ton at the moment.
  21. Blackpool will do you a full kit for £244. For that you get a BSA Lightning in either .22 or .177, a 3-9x40 scope, a pair of scope mounts, a gunbag and some pellets. They even throw the postage in for you and you'll have it next working day. You could order it Monday and be shooting Tuesday evening. You'll still have cash left over for some decent beer this Christmas too!! I've dealt with Blackpool a long time and they're no nonsense. You might get cheaper... if you do it'll be pennies and you won't get looked after as well. Plus when you decide you want to trade it for a pre-charged the
  22. I'm currently shooting a springer but it's purely because of my budget. I've got a Webley Stingray Deluxe which I picked up 2nd hand for £100. Mint. It's paid for itself a few times over in pesting operations! I like shooting springers because they're better for improving your marksmanship. But I've had a crack at most of the rifles on the market. Some I love, some I detest. If you were to put your identical twin on a pre charged, for six months, whilst you shot a springer he would out shoot you. Initially. When you swap over you'd out shoot him on his own gun because you've actuall
  23. If you're going new you'll have to budget for charging kit too. Pumps start at around the £100 mark so if your budget is £400 you're looking at £300 for a rifle and scope. Doesn't leave you much room to breathe. Could be worth hanging on a month longer and saving yourself a little more dosh. The S200 is a fine choice of rifle. Very light. Very portable. Very well balanced. Full powered hunting rifle that is no frills but very effective... just look at the bags Mr Darcy is getting. £250 for the single shot S200 £100+ for charging equipment £40 for a silencer (minimum for the Air Ar
