  1. Never shot one. After seeing what you're doing with them I'd be interested in sampling the FAC Version. Which setting is the sweet spot? 14, 22 or 33?
  2. League Against Cruel Sports , Sparling House, 83-87 Union Street, London, SE1 1SG They're struggling for money so I doubt they'd do a freepost box. Has anyone seen the sort of salaries these people are earning?
  3. What sort of power is it pumping out? That's cheating Peg! This thread is for pre-charged rifles!
  4. Ahhh memories of the Predator, Baldie. Are they illegal now or is it that they're not allowed to make them any more? Most fun you'll ever have with an air rifle is the Ripley Predator but, for my money, the best pre-charged is the HW100. (still haven't got one! )
  5. What's the best pre-charged pneumatic rifle on the market?
  6. Shortlisted it to 4 seeing as the they were the most common ones. Have a vote and we'll see what's the best springer voted for by the members of The Hunting Life.
  7. Call in to your local gunsmiths and ask for a quote. Tell him that you want your air rifle barrel threading to accept a ½ inch UNF silencer.
  8. For general mooching... 25-30 paces.
  9. Accupells are great pellets but very dirty. Get a decent pull through kit to keep free from shit. Love H&N but I'm Weihrauch biased as you know! I'm really pleased with the RWS Super Hollow Points at the moment. I'm not a gambler, as you know, and these pellets are a worthy addition to any armoury! Why have you gone for the re-barrel?
  10. Round head is the winner. Most ballistically( ) efficient of the pellets. If you can get your quarry within 30 yards a hollow point packs a hell of a wallop. My personal favourite for feathered vermin.
  11. Whoa! Thread pruned! To the Gentlemen concerned... Please don't use this particular thread to solve a dispute. This one is for the discussion of the best springer produced. If either gentlemen would like to continue, their grievance, could they please use the PM facility or if they'd like a more public rebuttal then could I direct you to the Flame Threads where this form of duelling is conducted. Regards Chris
  12. Heard a few horror stories about them coming loose and rattling. Generally about poor quality. Personally I thought it was bollocks so I asked you because I know you wouldn't pull my puddin! I've always rated the Pro Sport but it cost the same as a my HW77 Venom!
  13. Fine if you like vintage air rifles. What do you want to shoot? It's not a hunting tool.
  14. Not a springer though! I'm going to say HW77 because of the way it completely changed the air rifle industry. I had the HW77 Venom Mamba and I regret selling it to this day... Great suggestions so far and a definite pattern is emerging. Throw a few more up and we'll short list a few. Any problems with the underlever?
  15. Just heard on the news that Ofcom are investigating complaints that showed Jamie slaughter the lamb before the 9pm watershed. Apparently hundreds have phoned into complain...
  16. Springers only on this one. Gas rams etc are for another thread. Tricky one I agree but if we can get a short list of say 3 or 4 I'll stick a poll up.
  17. In Flanders' Fields John McCrae, 1915 In Flanders' Fields the Poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place: and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders' Fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe; To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high, If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though Poppies grow In Flanders' Fields. Lest We Forget...
  18. In your opinion, what is the best single shot springer ever produced?

    Bird Flu

Ordinary flu kills 12,000 people a year. Bird flu has killed 60 since 2003. If they start culling apply for the licences!
  20. Are they the plastic skirted ones? Watch for shavings fouling the rifle.
  21. Tommy... what's your budget for an air rifle and scope?
  22. The big problem you'll have with the older guns is spares. What's your budget?
  23. Just caught up with your last few threads, Stabs. Great stuff mate.
