Whoever did this knew that they'd have enough time to break into that apartment, snatch that child and get away before the alarm was raised. Basically they were watched from Day 1 of the holiday. The longer this goes on the less likely the news will be good.

This is purely out of curiosity... How many parents here would leave their three, under four year old, kids unattended, in a foreign holiday resort while they went out socialising? I really hope that Maddy is found safe and well but I also hope that the millions of other British tourists, going away this year, don't leave their kids alone while they go on the piss. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy but as a parent I'm really f*****g angry that they'd leave toddlers unattended in an apartment. What the f**k were they thinking?

Hey if you do the crime do the f*****g time. There are plenty of lads with criminal records that have FAC's and are legit shooters and it sounds like you've been lied to by the police, like many other lads that apply for FAC's and have criminal records. Run by the scum. They hide in animal rescue centres behind the people that do genuinely good work for animals. They use charitable donations to fund terrorism. Like most criminal networks they need a legitimate front to look the part. Not all rescues are run by the scum but it pays to check on who you send your money too. Seek legal advice. I know a certain hunting forum member that took the Crown to task over this kind of nonsense and won. Have a chat with countryside solictor and see what he says because it sounds like your local force might be trying to discourage you. Licensing will be coming in at some stage. Criminals won't apply for licences but why should we be lumped in with them? Ask any firearms copper about legally held guns and he/she'll tell you that at least they have people to eliminate from their enquiries, with legit shooters. It shouldn't do. There are plenty of people with records with FAC's and shotgun tickets. The point here is that would you risk an extension to that record when licensing eventually comes in? It's coming in one shape or form so get used to the idea.

Yeah. I tend to agree with that. It would be nice to get it on our terms for a change but restricting air rifles doesn't seem to have too many people against the proposal. However the government aren't known for their common sense law. I expect something draconian and unworkable.

But it would make them more accountable for when they do. If the decent law abiding majority had a choice over licencing or a firearms offence what do you think they would choose? The Scots MP's want a total ban on air rifles which mean that no one can legally use one. Would you licence your air rifle to be legit or would you run the risk of a prison sentence? Shouldn't matter. Licence all air rifles and remove the power limit for FAC air rifles. Then they won't have to test your guns, with any kind of pellet, as your licence will show you're legit. Then they can concentrate on catching
