That's part of it too but you're looking at the reverse side. I honestly wouldn't worry about it. I certainly don't feel for my safety when I approach my neighbours. That being said the ones that don't wish to interact have No Trespassing signs clearly posted on their property in accordance with state law. Honestly, mate. I'd take that comment with a large grain of salt. Despite the cultural differences you're still responsible for what goes downrange and any one sending rounds out like that would be very quickly on the wrong end of the local constabulary. Castle Doctrine is a strong l

It doesn't and it won't but with respect you're coming at this from a European perspective. It's a uniquely American phenomenon tied to the second amendment. An illusion of safety and security that's passed down from generations. You're attempting to attach logic to situation that waved goodbye to logic in the last electoral cycle. Sorry to hear that, mate. Hope they have a speedy recovery! Most Americans are the same way but it stems from a deep rooted belief in "We The People." In a time when record numbers of people are getting laid off. A time where billionaires with private

A lot of error messages. Clearly the Armchair Effect at play...

I was reading the Manchester Evening News this morning and I saw this article from Bury. I'd imagine the bulk of the discarded food is perishable but it does say tins of food as well. I'd like to hope this isn't a common occurrence but it is being reported. People are f*ck*ng idiots and have very short memories when the same councils were complaining about the rising rat populations in the cities. If the ratcatcher isn't essential industry yet it will be in a very short time. People will hang on to ammo for a rainy day. That's always been the case especially here as there isn't any lim

Anyone heard anything about how long these 'Emergency Powers' are going to last? The US' Patriot Act is closing in on it's 20th birthday.
-
Agreed Arry but as long as you have a massive amount of people only willing to pay the cheapest the market will provide the issue won't go away. You can only supply quality in numbers that the demand will allow. Bringing manufacturing back to the UK would require a paradigm shift to counter what moved it away in the first place. A quality and more expensive product will take a while to establish as the 1st world sees huge spikes in unemployment figures. I could yap on about the cost of doing business in the UK but simultaneously lowering the costs of business while the government sends ou

The Unabomber: In His Own Words is worth a watch. Bloke is bonkers but they go through his whole case history. Very interesting.

The unrivaled feeling of cracking open a cold one?

It does because they're only focusing on the chaos in New York. That's not a comment to trivialize the issue but one of understanding the media lens and what @mackay said above. This is still pretty fast and pretty raw. We're getting a lot of information and we still have a hard time processing it. America's NPR has released a great article in the last few days and it's well worth a read as it has global application as it relates to all of us. Have a click... https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/03/27/821958435/why-death-rates-from-coronavirus-can-be-deceiving

I just hope everyone has washed these fingers, for at least 20 seconds, before pointing them!

Are you having any shops that are refusing returns? Many of ours are telling customers that they won't be able to return any of the panic bought items for a refund. Even a few of the Costco's are doing it which is surprising as their return policy is one of the best in the world! Basically they're telling idiots that they bought that crap and they can deal with it. Pretty much but you're looking at massive cultural differences separated by the Atlantic. They're simply looking at the chaos the media is feeding them about what's happening in Europe and other gun free paradises, usin

30 minutes from a city of 90,000. 2 hours from Las Vegas. 600 people in my town.

That's a bit harsh!

All I'm getting is this add for Lidl... I can only assume that the empty squares are for toilet paper and hand sanitizer. If that's the case the sh*t won't have any barriers before it gets to the fans blades...

Raw materials for the loaders are on back order going back months. Shortages are on the way and even the big box stores are limiting purchases of all calibres.
-
Aye. My ammo guy usually gets orders in the hundreds of rounds per customer. Now they're in tens of thousands!
-
Sounds like we're in similar circumstances. We're seeing limited cases so far but that could lead people to ignore the recommendations and act like it isn't an issue with a false sense of security. As essential industry I still have to turn up every day... We'll see how that plays out.
-
How far are you from the nearest petri-dish major city?
-
I was going to ask how you were doing north of the border! Now that the initial panic buying has died down most are in pretty decent spirits, or at least drinking pretty decent spirits. Managed to get hold of my mam and dad on Whatsapp and they're holding up okay which has been a relief.
-
It ain't going away that's for sure but over time enough people will have had it that we'll be getting C19 shots along with flu shots at your local GP. The current measures in place are to keep the medical system from collapsing not defeating it, is my understanding. The question is will bankrupting the 1st world happen before or after the virus levels off?

It's just a little spice on the brisket rub!

Same here but I embrace my Sudanese roots even if it is 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%

True but if he turned up to steal your toilet roll and hand sanitizer you could shoot him with your AR-15. Checkmate.
-
We've seen panic buying of bottled water, sh*t tickets, and hand sanitizer. Demand has temporarily outstripped supply but it's certainly not anything like the "news" and "social media" are reporting. This has largely died down now as people are starting to realise that the supply hasn't been cut and most food stores are still getting multiple daily deliveries. Not heard of shootouts over bogroll but that's not to say it hasn't happened. Yanks will shoot out over pretty much anything and again you're onto clickbait headlines. Travel and work restrictions vary from state to state. NY a

Oh I know it's just the trending choices given the subject matter. 3 out of the 4 choices in the trending section are fictional horror films. Then when you look at the shelves in the supermarket you'd think you were in one. This is part of the problem!
