  1. When I saw this thread a small part of me was expecting dwarf porn.
  2. I'll be honest here... I skipped through a bit of it. But I couldn't find the bit where is says running a hunting forum.
  3. Deker. I hope you're going to pursue the case with the magazine in question? As a footnote to this thread...
  4. Easy fellas! The shit ain't worth dying over.
  5. Just two things to add. Firstly. The APR on these finance jobs is around 30%... get a loan or save up. I cannot think of a sound reason to finance a rifle unless it's a professional job that needs an air rifle immediately. Even then, if you're a pest control business, a short term bank loan would suffice as you'd be able to pay it after you've recouped the money from your client. Secondly. The Violent Crime Reduction Act requires that you can no longer buy mail order. It has to be face to face and registered firearms dealers are now required to keep records of rifles sold. So if you bu
  6. Agreed. They are a bunch of hypocrites. Those that condemn hunting as cruel and inhumane, usually eat meat and wear leather. They don't have a f*****g clue how their food is prepared and I would much rather eat wild food, that's had a chance at a normal life, than chew that processed shit that is raised purely for the bolt gun... but that is f****d up society we live in. Here's another fact. The Food Safety Act outlines the requirements for food preparation, distribution, wholesale and retail establishments in the UK. Part of their "due diligence" defence is that they're required to have p
  7. To be honest, I don't think I'd want to tune an HW100. They're as close to airgun perfection as 21st century technology will allow. If I wanted an FAC air rifle I want a bigger calibre than .22. As Sean said, yes I rate the HW100 very, very highly. My opinion is that it's the best rifle currently available. Now to official business. I've edited some of the previous posts, regarding tuning info. I accept that there are web sites with very detailed instructions but I'd appreciate it if they're not mentioned here. I'd also appreciate it if they're not linked to, as doing so could see your pos
  8. The Stiffmeister and Fellman used similar excuses at Lowther 2005 and 2006. It's nothing to be ashamed of... they let us get married now.
  9. Youngs 303 and very fine grade steel wool... like 000 (that's treble zero.)
  10. Yes. Providing the gun is in decent condition and putting out, roughly, the power set by the factory. To determine this take it to your local gunsmith and ask to have it chronographed. This will cost a couple of quid. They will be able to tell you whether the gun is underpowered, which could make it unsuitable for pest control. Or whether it is overpowered, which would make it an unregistered firearm. Both are bad. One would make the rifle unsuitable for anything other than tin cans, the other could see you on the wrong end of a firearms charge.
  11. Great entry rifles suitable for all small game and target shooting.
  12. I noticed something similar once too... a lovely piece of greenbelt... Had a drive out only to find it was a KFC and a Furniture Land... f**k Google Earth.
  13. That sounds like a confession from a man who waxes.
  14. Squirrel some cash away, while you're after the Taleban. Things will look much better, in the gun shop, on your return!
  15. Difficult to estimate as we know nothing about the condition of the rifle. 20 ft/lbs doesn't necessarily mean shit. The energy of the pellet, leaving the rifle, will drop off substantially as the range increases. Best way to gauge it is to set a chronograph, at varying ranges, and measure the downrange power. If we estimate 3ft/lbs, in a head shot, to kill a rabbit then this is how you'll know your maximum range. It's difficult to give you a rough answer as all rifles will shoot differently.
  16. While I can agree with that antis are here to stay... years ago they would've died out as grazers are usually food for hunters. While the average anti doesn't know shit from a hazelnut casserole I don't see why we should gift rap their 'intelligence' and make it easy for them. In days of yore they had to actually leave the house to get footage of their alleged moral crimes. These days all they have to do is switch on a computer while a load of morons hand them as much slaughter footage as they could wank over. I'm all for pictures but anything that can be altered to make us look wrong
  17. Depends how long you can wait, I suppose. You'll have to do some searching and see what comes up. Just resist the temptation to take the first rifle that comes along. Keep an eye out on here... some good gear going, now and then, but there is no predicting when it will arrive. Check back often.
  18. Yeah! It'll certainly teach you how to shoot!
  19. Saying that BC, I've watched the US version of The Office and I preferred it to UK version. Some things translate, some things don't. Britain has it's fair share of shite and looking at some of the candidates for these reality TV shows, they should be renamed to something like Bradford Has Prostitutes or Skelmersdale Has Pond Life.
  20. It's a tough call and depends on the returns policy of the shop. If you can take it back, do it! £150 will buy you something that will be more than capable of doing the job. Look at a Webley Stingray, Xocet or a BSA Lightning. If you already have the scope you're looking at gun only. If you can save up for a bit and work to £200 you'll have much more of a choice.
  21. Nice one Sean. I hope you'll be shooting stuff, with the camera, as well.
