  1. Who made the spring? Is it an Ox Spring by any chance?
  2. Tell them you're not interested every time they approach you about the subject. Whoever has the weakest faith will stop first.
  3. Highly unlikely. Anyone that read the forum will know why. Anyone that didn't doesn't really need to know.
  4. SACS give Hunting Life members a discount on membership. Don't go with the Countryside Alliance. They're not worth a wank unless you've got your own Bentley.
  5. I'd rate it at a 7. You can buy better for the same money.
  6. That will haunt me for a long time... just as I was getting over insomnia too. Pisser.
  7. Did he test the gun with your pellets? You might have a dodgy tin. No two shots will be exact but dodgy pellets can send the groupings out all over the place.
  8. This thread has been pruned at the request of the management. If you reply to it please don't quote the whole post. Just reply with any questions you may have.
  9. I've had the standard Lightning, in .25, and I loved it. Range is effected because of the heavier pellet. The wallet is effected because they're more expensive pellets. The sanity is effected because the pellets are harder to get hold of. I used mine for close range ratting and it was devastating. Trajectory wasn't a problem because of the range but I preferred it to the Crosman offerings.
  10. it a chinese rifle acording to guy at gun shop You've taken arguably the worst rifle in production and tried to tune into something it's not capable of. The spring you've put in may be the right one for the gun but you've not taken into account the stresses it puts on the other components, hence the dangerous firing. The best analogy I can think of is that you've squeezed a V12 into a Reliant Robin and neglected to fit the necessary supporting equipment, i.e brakes, steering, transmission and extra wheel. Basically you're trying to polish a turd. You'd be far better off buying
  11. You would be better off with a something like an HW45 than a cut down B2. Cutting any rifle barrel effects it's accuracy and as it's a B2 to begin with it sounds like you're trying to polish a turd. Experiment by all means but the minute you get the hacksaw out there is no going back. You'd be much better off buying proper hunting gear than f*****g around with cut up pieces of Chinese steel.
  12. If you get the right gas ram, for the gun, it should take it up to the legal limit. If you get the gun serviced it will run at about 10ft/lbs. You won't get a massive power gain by going for gas ram, and it will be cheaper having the gun serviced. Anything over 12ft/lbs willl require a firearms certificate, and no gun shop will tune your gun, over the legal limit, without one.
  13. For every shot they complain about, I'll take another...
  14. Not at PCP but it is designed for younger shooters. The Weihrauch HW25. Although it still might be a bit big for a 5 year old. Buy second hand and modify the stock to suit. They run a consistent 6ft/lbs and can be great fun for all ages! Small PCP's, you're looking at a single shot S200, for simplicity. Either that or let her shoot yours off a bipod.
  15. Alot depends on what you shoot but for many people, myself included, it's the all the fieldcraft and prep work that comes before pulling the trigger. I want to be good enough to get really close to what I'm after and that is the sport. It feels the same way for me as it does when you slip your dog, or you here the thump in the ground.
  16. No repeal on the ban. Tories will restrict airguns more. Best we can get with hunting is a degree of tolerance and that all depends on how f****d the situation is to begin with. Don't expect a Tory PM to devote any parliamentary time to hunting, not until they have unraveled the Brown and Blair legacy. That is if they can. Best bet is to get out there and just get on with it, don't advertise it.
  17. Timelord. Do you use Pellgun Oil on the seals, before installing the CO2 cartridges? I had problems with seals rotting and sticking to the cartridges but after using the oil they were trouble free.
  18. Superb! Look forward to seeing more over the season!
  19. Name and shame Sprags. At least let the management know so we can check up.
  20. Well, you do have the right to remain silent, Buster!
