Sportsmen will tell you to honour the breeding seasons. Pest controllers will tell you to honour the interests of your client/landowner. As a pest controller I would say keep your client happy. Sport or not it's he/she who decides whether you can come back again.

Depends what condition the rifle is in... Doesn't matter how often it's been used, or how old it is, if it's not been looked after he should be paying you to take it away. Likewise buying a second hand diving bottle. Is it still in test? Does it have an visible damage to the cylinder? I'm not even going to post a figure because I could be f*cking miles away from it's real value. Decide how much you want to spend and decide whether it's worth you spending your money. For a mint rifle most gun shops will not exceed 60% of the original price. So get your calculator out.

As someone who has a Rapid Mk2, in .25, running between 40-60ft/lbs I agree that you're into rimfire territory but this isn't about rimfire Vs airgun. This, to me, was always about seeing the limitations of the technology. As a shooter I see specific guns as tools to do specific jobs. Spending a fortune on an air rifle, when a cheap rimfire is adequate, is down to personal preference. I wanted to shoot something different and dare I say I actually like the quirks of this particular rifle. Same way I liked the quirks of the Ripley Predator. I've noticed that everyone is quick to write o

I've got a .25 in FAC and I love it. However .25 are limited on range due to a heavier pellet. That's why I went FAC, to over come that. I've used the .25 BSA Lightning, myself, although I don't own it anymore. I used it for close range ratting in several farms that were over run with rats. After a while there were people coming on with terriers, and when the farmer started using rodenticides, it all dried up. I gave it away after that. If you want to try it, go for it. It's still possible to get usable range but you won't be pulling off any 40yards + Leon type shots.

Ok let's break this down into really simple easy to read language. IanB owns the forum. IanB makes his own rules. IanB decides who is a moderator. IanB decides which rules are to be enforced. Moderators enforce rules. I'll put this bit in bold, in CAPS, and in BLUE. IT'S NOT THE SUBJECT MATTER THAT IS THE PROBLEM. BE IT RACE, RELIGION, ARSE BANDITRY, RODENT CUISINE OR, GOD FORBID HUNTING. IT'S WHEN THESE THREADS TURN INTO SLANGING MATCHES THAT RUN FOR SEVERAL PAGES AND HUNDREDS OF POSTS. If you don't like it. Don't read it. If you don't want to be here.

The difference between the US and the UK is that freedom of speech is in the constitution. They can say stuff like that but the second they act on it they'll be jumped on.

Those are the rules set down by the forum. We enforce the rules we decide are worth enforcing. If we enforced all of the rules we wouldn't have much of a forum, so back to the original point most people here get away with quite a bit. You are more than welcome to express your political views. You are more than welcome to express your sexual views. You are more than welcome to express your religious views. BUT... If the threads deteriorate into a 150 page slanging match of bitching, whining, and death threats (like most threads on race, politics, Plummer terriers, an

If you'd actually read what I wrote you'd have noted that it isn't the subject matter that's the problem. It's thousand pages of fall out, and death threats, that accompany stuff like this. You can give any view you f*cking want to, but don't be crying into your curry if your thread isn't there in the morning.

If they charge your card then get in touch with credit card company. They pay people to run round and sort stuff, like that, out.
-
Have they charged your card and not sent the goods?

Again the problem isn't the subject matter, it's the way the threads end up. Look at 'The Facts' thread that someone posted. 155 replies and it gets gradually more poisonous the further down you go. The fact is that free speech doesn't exist here. This is a hunting forum, yes, but it's also private property. The rules are the ones that you agree to abide by when you sign up... ... yet on a daily basis otherwise sensible discussions turn into childish slanging matches. These rules aren't created by the administrator, or the mods, but by the people that assign the web space for the

I don't think the subject matter is the issue. It's the way the threads spiral out of control into several pages of slanging, bitching, whining, etc, and glazed with a couple of PM death threats. The day people can have a sensible discussion, about anything on here, is the day I'll personally ask Ian for a debate forum. For the members that can remember the 'Ye Olde Flame Threads' you'll understand why we hover over the delete button every time we see the word paki, p***y, muslim, Iraq, and Taliban. Opinions are like arseholes. Everyone has one and I won't show you mine if you don'

Each culture to there own. Just remember where your medicines are tested. It wouldn't be my first choice of cuisine but I'd bet it's better than egg and chips in Benidorm.

Due to the badger legislation the only people with the official capacity are DEFRA. Dealing with them can be very hit and miss and depends entirely on your personal circumstances. I've had dealings in the past, regarding protected birds in food establishments and they only seem to want to get involved when public health is at risk. Also I'd recommend not publicising any badger related details to your neighbours. Even a course of trapping and releasing could bring out the worst and bring unwanted, and unwarranted, attention to you and your family. It's a long road. Good luck.

Due to yet another thread discussing unsuitable quarry for airguns, I'm going to ask all new comers to read this thread about the consequences of such threads... CLICK HERE TO READ THIS THREAD If you cannot read it, ask a grown up to help you. If they cannot read it, ask a teacher, police officer, or educated friend to help instead. While I can semi-understand that some of our posters haven't got the mental reasoning capacity to digest and act on these requests, ignorance of the law is no defence. I'm also concerned about the motives of a recent deletee and the content of their

Updated to due to a recent thread in the airgun section. That member has been deleted.

Talk to DEFRA, Al. It's the only way you can do anything about it and that's if you have a case that they'll respond to. The RSPCA can't do anything about it without a license from DEFRA, unless there has been a law change I'm unaware of.

Dunno but I bet they post in the Lurcher forum! -
Nice one Jacko! Would love to hear you elaborate on it!

I've been there too... used to do night inspections in the laundry... Infact it was so bad I learned how to respond to most insect, and rodent, problems there.

You are spot on with that one. The thing is, that the rat is a host to the infection and the fleas are the one that spread it, as it is not an airborne virus and needs to be transferred via the blood, hence the fleas. ATB Michael Bubonic plague is was/is spread by rat fleas. The fleas are infected with the disease and pass it onto humans or animals through the bite. Pneumonic Plague is an advanced form of the bubonic plague. When the bacteria spreads to the lungs the disease can be spread from person to person. It occurs via the inhalation of the airborne bacteria (coughs and sneez

It's a good idea, in theory. The reality is that we'll have to move even more posts into yet another forum as people will not (still don't) read the f*cking rules. A peddler forum just invites people to sell even more shit, on here, than they do already. In my humble opinion this place shouldn't have a classifieds section but it's not upto me, it's up to Mr B. Direct all further correspondence, for Peddler Central (For Swamper) to IanB.
