Preparing for the worst? Which when you look at some of the severely hit cities wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. Humanity has once again been caught with it's pants down and now they're doing what they should've done in January. Same in my local city, mate. Currently empty but if it rips through suddenly there's an illusion of preparedness at least.

No but then I'm extremely skeptical of what I'm viewing these days. What's being alleged?
-
I'm disappointed in that clip. He didn't mention the reptoid conspiracy once...

Piss boiling isn't it? I have nothing but respect for frontline staff but how much of the rest of the budget is squandered when they're screaming for resources? At a time when many governments are opening the floodgates for money to fix the pandemic where is the oversight to see that the right people get that money?
-
They're worth a couple of quid of anyone's money!
-
True. The £1.27 billion they lose in fraud would too!
-
Only messing, mate! Stay healthy though!

Same. When I do check it I try to avoid a 20 second selective edit of a 3 hour interview by a bloke on YouTube too. Hopefully that will be a trend that takes off as it's sure to be a surefire vaccine for some of the b*llsh*t being passed off as news these last few years!

Funding. NHS staff have complained for years of under-funding and while that surely is part of the problem so is the mismanagement of the current funding. Outright fraud and theft is endemic in all areas though. I don't think it's beyond the realms of possibility that numbers could be fudged to ensure access to additional funding and/or stimulus money on both sides of the Atlantic. Whether that's through mismanagement of the data or whether it's outright malicious will be the subject of debate for years to come. Fair, but we also have to look at those that will refuse to vaccinate agai

I understand that, mate. But it's a malaria drug and malaria is still a massive killer across the world. As C19 has only been a 1st world problem for a couple of months they're testing it to see if it's effective against this virus and whether the risks of taking it when you don't have malaria are beneficial versus the side effects if it's not. It's a damn good drug for malaria but the jury is still out against C19, no? Been hearing about it a lot this side of the pond, mate, along with a few brand new still in test treatments. One of them being tested is an anti-HIV drug. Interesting

I'd heard they had a term for that. Fentonitis.
-
Does it work for C19, or are they still testing it? Interesting that the mild side effects of the drug are actually symptoms of C19 too. I think I'd be having a chat with a doctor before I took anything like that, especially when I'd read about it on the internet.

Pretty average keeper to be honest. Shame arthritis cut his career short...

Western Meadowlark's this side of the pond. Sure sign that spring has sprung!

Big pharma have always been into vaccines, mate. The reason for the surge is the financial outcome for the successful jab. It's bad for business if you kill your customers which is why the benefits of vaccines outweigh the risks in every case, by a country mile. Measles for example. A child contracting measles has around a 1 in 20 chance of serious complications. A child who's had the measles vaccine has a roughly 1 in 2 million chance of serious complications. Source is John Hopkins University's Vaccine Safety department... Of course they would say that though, wouldn't they?!

Not made jerky for ages but buying a food dehydrator makes it really hard to get wrong. Also the cut of meat you use can make a huge difference too. You can experiment with cuts from the butcher until you get it the way you wanted. It's not necessarily the right way, or the only way, but it's another way.

If you listen to Trump's interviews the cure he refers to is the complete collapse of the American economy as opposed to the virus running it's course. The virus is extremely contagious and the answer has been the complete shutdown of the private sector. It's nothing to do with vaccines, mate, he's looking at the collapse of American businesses and record numbers of Americans out of work.

Latest round of panic buying, here, is ammunition. Flying off the shelves is an understatement!

That's interchangeable across the Atlantic and equally applies to politics and journalism. Almost like one fuels the other.

Is that better or worse than a reality TV host? Asking for a friend...

I hadn't thought of that. Coronavirus is just a cover to the real attempt at population control!

Fair one but is that an actual figure based on how much they pay in, or how much they're supposed to pay in? Earlier in the thread I said that corporations shouldn't be able to get massive bailouts unless they're paying in at a level that warrants it. All the big players (players in this context are the likes of Amazon, Starbucks, Google, eBay, Apple, etc) have little or no money where HMIR can touch it. Where does the PL and the top footballers fall into this category? Recipients of taxpayer aid should be the taxpayers. If they're not paying in they shouldn't be getting a payout, at all.

Update to cope with all the extra traffic?

How long before they rescind these emergency powers, do you reckon? The Yanks Patriot Act was due to expire in 2005 yet it's extension is the only thing the American powers that be can agree on. 15 years later... Both sides of the Atlantic are using mobile phones to track people's movements for marketing and it will only take the stroke of a pen to make it for 'national security.' I honestly reckon that even after this has all blown over the ramifications of security will still be there for draconian jobsworths...

While I'm sure that many of the them will have money offshore (and I couldn't give a flying if they do) could this be why the government have suddenly taken a shine to their earnings? I couldn't care less how much money they earn for the reasons Gnash listed above. I don't buy much into the 'fair share' argument either. It just seems a little suss that the biggest recipients of tax payers money are now pointing the finger at perceived new baddy.
