There was no offence taken, mate, and I didn't read it that way. I understand your perspective and I still view it the same way despite what's happened. Three of the lads I know that are now suffering with it bought into the whole YouTube hoax stories which I think is where I came in!

@Greyman I edited my post from last night because I'm not usually one to throw a sob story at internet strangers, and the timeline is still a little raw. I tried the PM but it said you're not accepting them so I thought, f*ck it... On December November 7th I lost my grandad to Covid. On the 9th I lost my neighbour. Three of my mates have been in intensive care with it. Two are at home on extended sick leave and I found out this afternoon that one of them is is going to be in for a while as he's having respiratory complications. I understand your perspective on it but I also have mine

Agreed but how many people on here, and elsewhere have diagnosed themselves based on the internet? I understand that people make mistakes but I'll trust my doctor, over a YouTube expert, every single time. Would you take your second opinion to the internet if it was something potentially life changing?

I did! I thought it was hilarious!

On my Netflix it had a trailer for it. If you can see that, or a YouTube equivalent, you'll probably know in a couple of minutes if it's something you'd be interested in. It certainly ticks the gritty detective, don't mind if it's subtitled, requirements!

The Method on Netflix if you can get it. Russian with English subtitles. I rolled the dice with it but I couldn't stop watching.

Agreed mate. We're seeing the same over here but now we're raising the spectre of the last couple of decades of management at the public level. I haven't seen it from the ground level in the UK but it appears that your great leaders are bumbling along the same as ours. Dumping unbacked money into the trough and making it up as they go along. Without deliberately attempting to steer the thread into yet another political discussion the coming change should also filter up to the management level and reflect that doing the same thing we have for decades isn't applicable in 2021. Change isn't

Understandable but if I'm honest, with or without Covid, my life hasn't changed a great deal other than the fact I cover my nose and mouth when I'm out and about. I rarely eat out. I don't go into bars, and clubs, anymore. I haven't even had a beer at home for the last few months as my work schedule hasn't given me the time. I do understand that I'm not normal though! I choose to live very deliberately in the sense that I stay out of the f*ck*ng way and mind my own f*ck*ng business. I fully understand that those that are super connected to modern living are having a rough time of it and t

Agreed especially as we've been bombarded with conflicting information over the last few months. I think the one that seems to be raising the flags for everyone is that we've been told that vaccines normally take years, even decades, to develop but this one has been produced in just months. I was sick this time last year. I rarely get sick. This one knocked me on my arse, but didn't stop me from dragging myself out of bed and going to work. I had a rough few days and got over it. I've been told it couldn't possibly be Covid because it wasn't in the US until the end of January yet I had al

I understand the concern with this record speed jab. We cannot possibly know of any long term side effects as it isn't even being distributed yet. I will get it because I have elderly family and neighbours that I interact with regularly. As more data comes in I'm less concerned with how it will effect me personally and far more concerned at how I could pass it on, if I was infected, and seriously effect someone else's quality of life. I'm not arsed about keeping my distance and putting something, over my mouth and nose, if it helps keep someone else out of the ICU. I don't doubt that if I

That's a fair question and I'm curious how many will stick to that. When I moved over here I had to have a full medical to ensure I wasn't carrying anything that blacklisted me from living here. I had to have all my jabs up to date. House rules. I had/have no issue with that. The choice I had was not vaccinate and lose my opportunity, or vaccinate and crack on. I fully support that all actions should be voluntary but I also support the right to association. If anyone wishes to exercise their right not vaccinate they're not in position to cry foul when they're excluded from priva

In addition to that I wonder how many GP's have their patients show them a video from YouTube showing them how all their medical training and experience has been debunked by David Icke. Is it any wonder why they write out a prescription for penicillin just to get them the f*ck out of their office so they can bring in the next expert?

How much do the Carhartt hats go for over in Blighty?

I think that's where we're all coming in at. That's the way it has to be done. Taking the fruits of your/our labour and redistributing it is part of the reasons we're in the mess we're in. The powers that be have too much of it and are showing us, continually, that they're drifting through it as much as we are. That's the bit that needs to change IMO. We should be the ones that decide what we do, not our elected officials. They're paid to govern, not rule.

If you unplug the internet does it even exist? Both sides of the Atlantic are still living in that massive duopoly and seem to want to keep it that way.

Wisconsin recount has come back. Biden increased his lead... Trump's now hinting that his own appointees in the FBI and DOJ are conspiring against him... The referee is looking at his watch...

Heard an interesting one about Dominion this morning. Their software is used in 14 counties in Pennsylvania. They processed 1.3m votes this election. 676,000 went for Trump. That's over half. Can we include this in the conspiracy?

Yep... McCullough issued that order on Wednesday. The allegation was that the Pennsylvania absentee ballot law violated the Pennsylvania constitution... ... PA supreme court overturned it, today saying "the lawsuit was filed months after the law allowed for challenges to Pennsylvania's expansive year-old mail-in voting law." Unanimously. With prejudice. My understanding is that as the case wasn't a violation of federal law, or the US Constitution, and was brought by PA plaintiffs and against PA defendants, the state supreme court has the final say. Which in this case looks p

I'd argue that's one of the plus points of social media, although I agree with you on the partisan aspect. I do think that is one of the plus points of the Trump administration, in that his reality TV bollocks has brought it to the handset of pretty much everyone that has a phone. The downside is that he's now trying to limit that access with the proposed repeal of 230. That's actually really important to the kind of conversation we're having. We had an incumbent and a challenger that wish to remove our right to conversation for different reasons. The end result is that we step backwards

We're getting people in retail being verbally and physically abused because of their store's mask policies. They're saying their civil rights are being violated completely oblivious to the rights of the people they're yelling at. I get called a c*nt too but I think that's just my demeanor in general.
-
Seeing a lot of that here too. Then again also seeing a lot that won't wear them and will tell anyone that makes eye contact that it's a hoax. I kinda feel like we're trying to fight a wildfire with buckets of confetti.

Same! I'd been toying with either a Thompson Center or a Ruger No1 but this has left me with more questions than answers! We were sourcing scrap lead from tire dealers. Old wheel weights that they bin. Harder to get now with the ammo panic we're currently seeing. Still easier to get them from commercial tire dealers than standard auto. I don't reload (yet!) but our ammo guy appreciates the lead.

Agreed. If the dems controlled all three branches we'd be truly f*ck*d.
