  3. linda it need'nt take years. read a few books then chat to a few local farmers and ask for permision to exersize a terrier. then go out and buy yourself a terrier and get a pair of wellies and go out and do it yourself. its very rewarding to bring on and enter a pup. if you do manage this write up a post and get a couple of pics up
  4. wouldnt mind seeing the dog pup in a couple of months
  5. If every shots a safe shot you'll bag them but everyone hunts over different ground, and trust me a dog would do 10 out of 10 in the right hands and ground! 3 out of 10 you must have good ground and a good dog. i know very good dogs that cant do that with rabbits. i still say that a rifle in the right hands will be more efficient than a good dog in the right hands.
  6. foxing in the lamp. a dog cant do as well as a rifle. the rifle should get nine out of ten a single dog will be lucky to get three out of ten. foxes seen that is not slips
  7. you sound like a good owner. better to over worry a little than not worry enough. hope you and your best mate have many happy hunting forays
  8. that is a nice sort. stronge looking terrier good luck in the future with it

  11. THATS A LOT OF MONEY FOR A JACK INIT [bANNED TEXT] ? sounds like a fair price to me. BORNTOHUNT. how much do you sell your pups for. arnt you the guy that offered 50 brick for a plummer pup. sound like a right tight c**t
  12. i cant find another breed as versitile tbh? . all hail the whippet
  13. i cant speak for others but mine is a strong willed dog with a very high prey drive and was brought on daytime with ferrets and terriers. and he has adapted to lamping reasonably well. however he does put his nose down now and again. this is a nuisance but i live with it as it is of my making. if i had brought him in as a lamping dog i would be a frustrated owner maybe it would be better if the dog was placed in a home that suited the way it works. rather than being unsuitable and passed on again. they are a good cross but i feel for rabbits the second cross would have more to offer
  14. its a magazine that is weekly what others are there it was asking for input and letters for the letters page. go on write a topical letter. win a good hunting knife plenty of terrier and ferret articles. but ive gotta say the letters page used to be good years ago. along with deargie and pesters pen . it gets my support . 100% as its the only weekly we have.
  15. we all know what the little whippet is capable of. there arnt many breeds that have such a pasionate following but they do have there draw backs. and they are rabbit dogs. anyone that see's whippets out regular will know that rain and wind is hard on em. they are (generally to light) for bigger stuff. they do tear easily. if they was as good as they are made out on here. why are there so many whippet crosses/small lurchers great little dogs but they have there limitations. hence the little crossbred whippet types . whippets are on the up as are the small lurchers. so cheer up nice do
