  1. THERE IS MANY REASONS TO CROSS BREED. oops caps/ the most obvious is to improve on what you have in your kennel in some way or other. simple as that. why has the bedlington terrier been outcrossed to different breeds. to bring down the size/ to improve the coat/ to strengthen the head/ to improve the working qualities. some folk dont have long term plans so they use the nearest working terrier to there bitch and produce crossbred workers. wasnt the bedlington used many years ago to stiffen the lakys that were found lacking. i produced crossbreds years ago by useing a laky over a russell bitch
  2. there you go heavy cover and flooded earth
  3. the cover is still very heavy here. and a lot of low lying holes are flooded out had a walk out today and put a few out of the cover. early days. there seems to be a lot about this year

  8. old trusty was first and foremost a working terrier. but he won many shows. he won the best in show at the pjrtcgb national 2000. got a CC and trophy. he was shown by a young girl who took a shine to him at a local working show and asked if i would let her take him. he certainly wasnt whippetty . he was george simpsons lines. (howlbeck)
  9. the dog i put up was KC reg and 100% below ground
  10. had a good parson worked well to ground bay and mix sort but could kill if the chance came.
  11. the thing here is the whites used in the old lines where tested workers. and it wasnt done behind closed doors. how many of the offspring are in working kennels. unbeknown to the owners. i think anyone can breed there dogs any way they like. as long as it is done openly and honestly. so if fOX TERRIER apears on the peds good luck to him. if not then why not
  12. Holy god not a bit of wonder the dog market is full of rubbish with statements like that. Its a fu**ing PET. if you had the choice what would you breed from. A a well bred but untried ( pet ) or B a good worker with unknown pedigree ??????????????? are you serious??? holy fcuk this thread is seriously finding a few interweb hunters! lol Workerxworker every time of course i'm serious . one of the best workers ive seen was out of two pets it exelled at everything it was as hard as iron. probably one of the best workers in the district. it produced JACK SHIT

  16. 90% breeding 10% feeding. its all about the bloodlines better to use a none worked dog of good working lines than to use a worker of breeding unknown. how many folk do you know with an unbroken working line i will be honest and say hands on heart i know of no unbroken working lines that are tested through each generation. best to best of tested stock is the best way to go in theory but in practice the lines are not always available so go with the best you can get if that dog hasnt been worked is no biggy as long as your honest and upfront about your breeding. good luck. at the end of the day
