  3. my little border bitch has started to work a bit better than usual, she is a small type that usually just bays and bolts the odd one, she is not the type to get up close and personal, that is untill last weekend, i was just checking afew places out, when she went to ground, started to bay, well she done well, i dug a brace out, first was the dog then abit further on the vixen, she had 2 teeth loose i was hoping they would reset, but they did,nt, so this weekend i went local for a walk out with the 3 borders, they flushed one fox from cover and the dog had a bit of a hunt on him, about a mile f
  4. Whats silly about £500 for a well bred, well reared, microchipped, registered pedigree puppy? Whats FAR more "silly" is Saluki's at £1000 (not registered) and Doodle this and "Jug" that at £800!! Oh and a few chocolate Patts at £600! For the record I have turned down many thousands of pounds for my dogs, I have "orders" for 5 puppies and Ive never bred a litter! I have people that want my males semen in Canada, the USA and Australia as well as bitches travelling from the continent, guess what? I had him a Suprelorin implant so that HE would be happier and settled when my pup came
  5. for me it was my fisrt border terrier, i got him from ron hillcote,in 1988,some lads kept saying they were no good to ground, well this dog started working at 12mts, it was a vixen and cubs, so i kept him off untill the winter and he never looked back,he was also a first class hedging dog he would hunt all day long,he was a dog that just wanted to work, he was,nt interested in brock untill he was 5yrs old then i had to keep an eye on him, at the time i had a lurcher from hancox and the three of us had some good sport, he was also a good looker, at the time i was showing him a bloke named bill
  6. well done, anyone that promotes working borders is a better man than one who try,s to belittle them. a true terrierman would be infavour of anyone that is trying to keep and promote the breed, all the best with your new book, dave mac.
