  1. Thanks trigger. You up for some filming this season with your dogs?
  2. Lass is doing well, I don't know how she caught that rabbit through the sheep fencing. Clever bitch and has a cracking nose. Socks, im the one who normally flicks the beams from side to side or on and off even sometimes works. I believe it works. Best not though for this footage. Need a better camera now. cheers chaps
  3. Barf is the way but I wonder what goodness there is in the guts. Plenty I thought and I been feeding pup plenty of fatty meat. Lamb and chicken.
  4. Hi guy heres the latest lamping video I have just finished editing. Filmed over one nights lamping for 3 hours ish. Hope you enjoy it. all the best Rew
  5. Hi guys, Heres a new Lamping video I have just finished editing. It was filmed all in one night end of august. Hope you enjoy. http://youtu.be/-4OgZezhsXk Hope you enjoy it. Rew
  6. cheers chaps, shes learning a lot from Fly. When I watch her its like watching fly all over again. Fly self entered at 25 weeks catching her first daytime bunny and it looks like Gem is heading that way. She isn't fazed by water even which I love in a lurcher. I threw her a tennis ball into the trent and she took the plunge, swam out 10 yards and back again with the ball. Tiny, I only asked because I thought it would be a good alternative to feeding veg. What you reckon?
  7. Anyone else feed rabbits with guts in after being frozen first?
  8. the dam was whippet x saluki grey x whippet grey and the sire was saluki grey collie grey My cousin and friend have a dog pup each from the same litter so got some competition between us.
  9. It couldn't have gone any better. Need to start learning some basic commands now. She can do SIT but need t work on stay and hold commands.
  10. Decided to take Gem my lurcher pup ferreting yesterday. I was only using the one longnet which was a pain to run out because of the hard ground but eventually managed 3 5yd sections between a hedge and fence. Only worked the one albino jill who normally gets second place over my other polcat jill. I saw five or so rabbits go to ground and Gem was having a sniff about. The jill was straight onto one and she caught it just inside the hole. Gem was aware the rabbit was close by and started pawing the hole and whining. I pulled that one out, let Gem have a sniff then popped it in the game bag.
  11. Deano, Lass is collie whippet grey x saluki grey . If im wrong nottzhunter will put me right. The zig zag pattern works well, we were stuffing our bags inside the hedge on the runs to force the rabbits to head into the fields. That hob is the one tomo gave me. Brandon works him now and he does the job well. I still prefere my polcat jill, shes been lethal the last two seasons and she will do me well again this year im sure.
  12. Heres a new video filmed only last week. This is how our first session ferreting went. ENJOY all the best rew
  13. Good read vin. Looks like your team are ready for some graft .Wishing I was there also, let us know when you guys would like me to come and film. I was over near the moors beginning of the week and it was really foggy. I took the ferrets too so I could mooch about but very hard to see anything because of the fog. So took them on the beach instead as you do.
  14. Thanks guys. I do have more just need to edit up quickly and will post them. Lamping one should be ready tomorrow evening.
  15. Had our first outing yesterday. Only out for a couple hours on a hedge row. I got nettled all over my face reaching into a hole to grab a bunny. Not fun but managed 4 rabbits. Mixy has hit this place, one rabbit had it bad and another looked like the scabs had started to fall off. I still necked the poor fella but wish I hadn't now. Well done micky
  16. Hi guys Just a short ferreting video I filmed last year. Never got round to editing it fully as I never got enough footage on the day. Hope you enjoy . all the best Rew
  17. Maybe one day. They are kennelled in the back yard when im not watching them. Like I said though the pup is already jumping the back gate to come inside so that will be my first job to fit a higher gate. Gonna go take them down the park for some socialising now. Of to the beach tomorrow.
  18. lol it is dodgy but we have always had our dogs on the yard like this and not had a accident just yet. Now don't jinx me please.
  19. Just seen an add for hunting boots for £30. Just been on the decathlon website and there are loads. So before I pay out 150 for some lowa's , has anybody tried the decathlon range? rew
  20. Thanks northernlite, morning walk today and GEM found a dead rabbit. Probabley been dead a day and the birds had already started eating it. Good nose on the pup first of all for finding it on some scrubby field, she did begin to bring it back to me but got a taste for blood and started eating it instead. Her retrieving with the tennis ball is brilliant though and she even had a walk through a sheep field. Its great watching them take everything in. On our way back home I collected a bag of fish heads and she had fresh fish for the first time. So much better than tuna. Cant wait to star
  21. It does worry me. I have found my old bitch crossing that road numerous times and it always seems to be on her return that I catch her. I have to run out into road and stop the traffic. I don't know how she hasn't been killed yet. I am very careful these days and I never take my eyes of them. My dad says the same thing about the fence situation but we have a good size garden for them to play on so I just take advantage of it.
